These are awesome and I have recommended them to several people I have been helping to get started in Leathercraft. When I first bought a set, they were around $40, but fast forward a year or two and they have gone up to $60. I think Realeather should consider the fact that these are the first step into tooling for a lot of people, and they are pricing them out of wanting to learn. Who wants to pay $60 for a few tools that you may or may not ever use again, depending on your talent and skill? I think the $40 price point was much more affordable and would get a lot more people interested in this craft. Realeather should think about the $$ those future customers would bring in on other products after they learn with these. Other than that, these are a great combo of tools to get someone started and the quality is very decent. I like them better than the current Tandy product. ... show more

    • Nice Tools for a Low Price
Most tools that you normally get from a set tend to be cheaply made and don't feel great. This, however, was way better than I thought it would be. This comes with stencils which I didn't realize when I made the purchase and has a diagram of how to use the tools on the pattern. I already have about 40 hours worth of experience so I had a pretty good and basic idea of how these tools should be used. It does not come with a mallet, so make sure to get a really good one. I ordered both Sheridan tool sets and upon receiving them i tooled a simple Sheridan flower and began to use the lifter. The tip broke off after about four times of use. On close examination it appeared to be, i my opinion, to b made of pot metal with a shiny metal cover... I have used a Tandy lifter for many years without any problem but used this lifter as it came with the set I called the Company and they said i could get my money back, BUT i have to now start a claim thru my bank, etc., etc. ... show more
