  • Worth the Money - Long As You Set It Up Right
Style: LED Lighting Color: Black Size: 8 Gallon
Meets every expectation! Most beautiful aquarium I've ever owned! NOTE - I have 20+ years experience keeping fish. But after reading so many negative comments (most of which are on the silver MCR-light version), just to make sure, I talked with my local fish store equipment experts to make sure the little guys in my current tank would transition ok to this new tank, before I even bought it. Here's my advice: Regardless, buy the air stream cap!! It's only $2, & it will make sure nobody gets stuck in that tube! (See newer pic with assassin snail). -If this is a brand new aquarium for you, I would set it up according to the instructions. *Yes the air pump will be loud if it's right next to the surface the tank is on, as it vibrates. I recommend putting the BiOrb on a cabinet/stand with a drawer/shelf inside that you can put the air pump in (with a hole in the back for the tube to connect through). *Keep in mind most tropical fish need a heater (yes the tank lid has space for its chord), so I would buy one. If you don't want to buy any decor not sold by BiOrb (like live plants & wood), you'll need to start slowly with your fish. I would add any bottom feeders (shrimp, snails, ottos) on the 1st day that you can add fish, & NOTHING else. (BiOrb DOES NOT recommend corys with their pebbles just FYI.) Wait another 2-3 more days, then add your other fish. Stay away from micro breeds & any digging breeds (again due to their pebbles) and don't overload the tank. The general rule is 1 inch of fish = 1 gallon of water. This model is an 8-gal tank, so no more than 8 fish total. Again, talking with your fish store expert will help. If everyone's happy in 8 months, you can be more flexible with this. -If you are transitioning fish from an old tank to this one, this will work great. Don't use the fake pebbles that come with the tank if you're fish are smaller than 2". These pebbles are large & oddly shaped (& this is why small fish get stuck in the filter). Use standard, large aquarium gravel, or river rocks as I have here. The goal is to cover the filter enough that no one will get caught inside, but there will still be flow. Sand is a no-no as it will get stuck in the filter. If you use substrate, you'll want to use it in combination with something else, & position it away from the filter. You might need a bottom feeder fish if you don't have any, &/or don't want to clean the tank with a gravel vac as the filter will work slightly slower with smaller gravel just FYI. As my picture shows, I've already moved all my rocks, wood & live plants to the new tank right away. I recommend this (your fish will be fine without decor for the 3-day period the BiOrb needs lol). This will establish the healthy biome faster, & prevent ammonia spikes when the fish are moved over. If you have a planted aquarium, I would move some, but not all, of that so neither tank's biome gets messed up. Also, I'm not using the water bio booster (that comes with) because I have live stuff already in the tank, again to prevent ammonia spikes. And I have my own water conditioner my fish like, so I'm also not using the one that comes with it. Hope this calms some nerves! This really is a beautiful aquarium, my fish will love it!! ------- Update 2/23: Still love, love, love this aquarium! It took a few months to get the ideal balance between fish, decor placement, & cleaning (this is an 8 gallon, my previous tank size for over a decade was 5 & a completely different shape/setup)... But I expected that. Currently it has: Cardinals, a couple danios & platies, a licorice gourami, that snail, & two amano shrimp (one of which is preggers, so yeah everyone is pretty happy lol). ... show more

  • THE AQUARIUM OF MY DREAMS!!!
Style: LED Lighting Color: Black Size: 16 Gallon
This is absolutely the most Amazing Beautiful Gorgeous aquarium that I have ever seen or owned and I am completely Enthralled and in Love with this aquarium!!!... I cannot get over how visually stunning and crystal clear the acrylic globe on this aquarium is that it gives the impression that the fish are actually coming through the globe lol... and because of the way that it is so expertly designed I have such a much more personal relationship with my fish they actually come up to greet me whenever I come near and I Luv it!!!... The assembly and set up was effortless and a breeze and I can say without hesitation that this aquarium is most definitely Top Tier as far as aquariums go to the point that I have purchased it in the three different sizes of 4, 8 and 16 gallon and wish I could get it in the 28 gallon size as well lol that is how much I love this Biorb Aquarium... Also the biorb decor will not only make this aquarium pop it is essential to accentuating the true Beauty and the aesthetics of this aquarium I would say if you do not purchase the decor that they offer you will not be able to do it justice with anything less because their decor complements it so perfectly I Love Love Love this Aquarium and I am a customer for Life... • Our 10yr old son is VERY disappointed and heartbroken
Style: LED Lighting Color: Silver Size: 8 Gallon
We bought this aquarium for our son as a Christmas gift. He was so excited to open it up and start the process of getting it ready for some fish. We followed the instructions to a T and waited the allotted time before getting 3 small guppies. After the first night, we woke up to cloudy water, which we thought didn’t seem right. We kept a close eye on the fish and they seemed to be ok. Day 2, we woke up to only one guppy and the two deceased guppies are no where to be found. Our son was absolutely devastated. Growing up, I’ve had my fair share of fish and definitely know how to take care of them. Before getting my son this Christmas present, I did quite a bit of research and felt buying the Biorb was going to not only fit in with our decor but be a great experience for him. To watch him run downstairs to say good morning to his new fish, to see the disappointment and defeat on his face when he can only find one fish, is absolutely heartbreaking. My husband and I are extremely disappointed with this purchase, especially with the amount of money we spent, not only on the tank but also the specifically designed Biorb decor. I wish we would have gone to our local pet store and purchased one of their tanks, which would have been cheaper. I will NEVER purchase a Biorb tank again. If only I could rate this product with ZERO stars, I would have. ... show more

Really love this aquarium. Its shape gives it so much depth. Appears bigger than it really is and fish appear to be swimming outside the tank! Very nice!!

  • Too expensive for quality
Style: LED Lighting Color: Black Size: 4 Gallon
I think this aquarium is too expensive for the quality of the design, material, and air pump... I wasn't very happy when it first arrived because it started leaking from the bottom. It turned out that the sealing paste wasn't placed correcltly and left some space for the filter system to not seal well in the bottom (first picture shows the sealing paste at the bottom of the filter system). We removed the sealing paste completely and it finally stopped leaking. It has been 3 or 4 weeks since I put the aquarium to work and I still check for leaks just in case. I am afraid it will start leaking sometime in the future again. It's definitely a beautiful aquarium and that's why I kept it. I like the fact that the filtration system is at the bottom and I like it's round shape. Be aware that the material gets easily scratched. The ceramic material for filtration has scratched the bottom even though I placed it carefully. Also, the air pump was very laud the first day or two, then it got quieter but you can still hear it. I got this 4 gallon aquarium for my betta fish and he loves it. He stays very active and curious. He loves to swim around in circles, and the air pressure doesn't seem to bother him at all. He even tried to cross the bubbles and likes to look at them. Given to the shape of the aquarium, it creates some blinds spots, but that doesn't really bother me as I can still see my fish moving around, and I think that the shape of this aquarium enhances the view of whatever you have in there. Overall, my only concern thus far is the aquarium leaking again, but I am satisfied to see that my fish is healthy and happy and the filtration system seems to work well. ... show more

  • Mix Feelings!
Style: LED Lighting Color: Black Size: 4 Gallon
First off, the aquarium itself does look beautiful and I do appreciate the filter being at the bottom of the tank. I’ve had this aquarium since April 2023 (first time being a fish owner) with that being said I don’t blame the tank entirely. There are a few things I needed to learn myself. My biggest complaint is the filters, they are a bit pricey in my opinion. Started at $9.95 each and recently I saw them go up to $13 with a subscription. I’ve had to change them frequently (again that might have been my fault with over feeding the fish) I will be trying others that are not from BiOrb see how that works. The acrylic does scratch easily if you're not careful and you cannot use anything abrasive when cleaning it. With that being said I wasn’t a big fan of the media that came with it. However, they do explain that in the instructions. Last complaint is that if you have small fish they can easily get caught inside the tube, BiOrb sells the bubble tube guard/cap for $7 bucks, but this is a safety issue for your pet fish and find it absurd to have to purchase separately and it not being included with the aquarium kit. Overall, it’s a lovely tank and I do enjoy watching my fish 🐠 in it. Hence mix feelings, hope that helps! ... show more

  • Beautiful fish tank
Style: LED Lighting Color: Silver Size: 8 Gallon
I love this tank. I always get compliments on it. We’ve had it 2 years, going on 3. Literally everyone that has already seen it, comments on it every time they come over. We will catch ourselves staring at it for a long time lol. I have the 8 gallon and it’s pretty big, has its own sort of presence in the room. The price is kind of more than I originally wanted to pay, but I think it’s totally worth it. Cleaning it is not my favorite thing, but that goes with any tank. I wasn’t sure if it would hold up because it’s not glass, but it’s very sturdy. It’s heavy enough when it’s full, so I’m glad it’s not glass after all. ... show more

  • This tank is exactly what I needed
Style: LED Lighting Color: Black Size: 8 Gallon
This tank is awesome. I was using a large, heavy glass vase for a previous tank with a plant through the top. But the opening was small, about 3 inches and the bottom cracked Wednesday night. Wanting another round tank, and in a hurry I ordered this. Its light, but sturdy. Beautifully transparent, and the mouth up top allows you to fit almost anything. And with a drill, and dremel I was able to do some modification to still have my plants throught the top and roots drape down into the tank! It's really rad. I could easily see myself getting a larger tank if desired in the future, or even the terrarium tanks if I felts froggy enough. Only recommendation or feauture i wish the product included was a cap for the bubble tower in the middle. When adding media or gravel into the tank it can easily go down in there which I feel is a negligible/minor oversight in development. ... show more
