I had ordered two headlamps because I was very conflicted on what I should get for my morning runs. From my research the two headlamps that most people recommend for running are the BlackDiamond Spot 400-R and the Biolite 425. I really liked the design of the BlackDiamond Spot 400-R so I was really hoping to like it, but after trying it on, I was immediately put off. It was not comfortable, and further more the LED wasn't very bright. Trying on the Biolite 425 was a completely different experience! It is so comfortable, and better yet, it is very bright and the light is better dispersed. The thing that I really appreciate about the BioLite 425 is the red light indicator on the back of the headband. It puts me at ease knowing that bicyclists and cars will be able to see me from a distance, and is such a neat feature to have added. The only con about this headlamp is that it does warm up your forehead after a while, but this is an issue with most headlamps given their size and heat dissipation. Overall, I would definitely recommend the BioLite 425 if you are going to be using it for running because it is bright, comfortable, and provides extra visibility. ... show more

I was on the hunt for a headlamp that could do red light for night sky photography/viewing. My key criteria were: Something USB-C rechargable (so I don't have to travel with any additional cables) A way to default to red (this one turns on to whatever setting it was left on) so I don't blind myself at night Something lightweight, adjustable, and comfortable This head lamp does it all. I had high hopes for this light. Because the headlamp is very thin (seems like that would be a good thing) the light shines onto the top of my glasses and reflexes back into my eyes.     • Bright, stays on your head, will force you to read the manual

The headband design keeps it where you put it on your head, even while running down a hill covered in tree roots. It's also USB-C rechargeable which you would think would be the standard for 100% of devices in 2023 - but it's surprisingly uncommon among name-brand headlamps. The flood and spot combo is great and provides all the light I could ever ask for, plus the up and down adjustment is a welcome necessity. Loses points for having stupid, overcomplicated controls, and for having a way-too-easy to activate strobe mode that is guaranteed to blind you or your partner at least twice. Is it too much to ask for one high/med/low/off button for the floodlight and another for the spotlight? ... show more

Awesome concept. However, it's a total fail in my book if it won't hold a charge. I love my smaller biolite headlamps and will be sticking with that model. This one just doesn't have the battery life for much of anything. It was full and lasted less than 20 minutes on a low setting. So lame that I can't return it. ... show more

I own a farm and am a contractor and avid outdoorsman. So... I essentially live in my head lamp. I have half a dozen black diamonds which I love. But, at our camp we have a few bio-lite stoves which i've always really liked so when I saw they had made a head lamp I figured I'd give it a try. The one thing I will give them is they did in-fact make the most comfortable headlamp I've ever had. You forget you are wearing after 5 minutes. Outside of that though I'd say they missed the mark in terms of the price point. The brightness is fine, but nothing outstanding, its avg for a modern LED head lamp. The deal breaker though is the battery life. Its horrible. Not even close to what's advertised. I'm literally getting like 45-60 minutes max on the low light setting. Its ridiculous. Its made the head lamp almost unusable for me as most of the time I need a head lamp to last me hours of continuous use. It's just a shame because I didn't really realize it until it was too late to return. ... show more

I use mine everyday I work. Fits comfortably and has different levels of light. Is great to not have to buy batteries and fill up landfill with batteries. Recharge takes no time. Also is great when sewing or doing other crafts.
