    • You get what you pay for
You get a lot of tools for the money, but sometimes quantity isn't everything. The textured tools seem good overall. There's some lack of definition on the print in some, so they'll probably need some more aggressive hammering, but they're passable given their price and how textured tools generally don't need utter perfection to work well. Some of the tools I received are relatively unfinished with burs and mold lines, and my flat bevelers came with a bit of stippling that while acceptable for practice and casual projects for novices on a budget, I will absolutely need to grind these down or buy better ones for more professional projects for a smooth finish. I had low expectations given the price here, but the smooth angle bevelers are your bread and butter for stamping, and being a flat surface, can and should be given some extra attention. It's why I can't mark this set as more than three stars for "easy to use;" imperfections in tooling are usually the result of error on the leatherworker, but it can be hard to tell if you're making mistakes if your flat tools have scuffs and textures. This is still a decent deal given how many tools of acceptable quality you get. It's a pretty decent set of patterns overall, too. That said, expect to need to potentially re-buy a number of them, and if you're really here for the smooth bevelers, do yourself a favor and just spend the money for a good set and come back for this or another set of stamps when you need the specialty patterns. ... show more

    • Lacks craftsmanship because the stamps are not deep enough to leave their mark
Fairly disappointed in these leathercraft tools because their cut is not deep enough to leave their mark in the leather. Cheaply made and do not work well at all. I bought my first set of leathercraft tools when I was about 13 (now 70) and the original tools were far better made and always left their intended mark. These do not do so. ... show more

Yeah most likely will not use most of these, but the six or so I use regularly were well worth the cost. For anyone doing this sort of work you know it is a repetitive task and can cause your thumb and hand to get sore holding these. Would love to see ones with a thicker handle?     • Good for beginners and hobbyists.
After reading a lot of the reviews on this item I almost didn't buy these. What I now see is that a lot of people don't seem to understand how to use them. There's a learning curve here. They work just fine. You need a hammer, the right type of leather and it needs to be properly prepared (wet). Also a quick tutorial on YouTube will explain this. ... show more

I got the stamp set. Buy it, it's a very good deal for the price. This is a great starter set for leather tooling. There are crisper stamps out there and ones made of more robust materials, but not for this price. Most all the stamp designs were useful and the couple I won't use I plan to file into another shape. ... show more
