Edit: I love this company, and I love this e-reader. TLDR: If you use it like a tablet, it'll have a battery life like a tablet. If you use it like a color e-book reader, the battery life will be better. Also, Tech support at Bigme was so attentive, so responsive, and so helpful. Since this reader didn't meet my needs, they helped me upgrade to a 7-inch reader, which I will review separately when it arrives. My next phone is definitely going to be a Bigme phone. I cannot wait. The tablet feature that i really wanted on this, was find-device, and that's the main battery drain. That said, I find myself reaching for this constantly. The screen is very comfortable. Youtube Kids is totally functional, but less stimulating. The lighting is really nice, and being able to turn it off entirely is even better. I still don't know if it has any kind of waterproofing, and it only wants a 5amp USB-C cable, which is the one that has a classic USB a connector on the other end. If it weren't for the outstanding tech support (thank you Bigme!) this would be a 3-star product. If it weren't for the outstanding customer support, this would be a 4-star product. I feel really good putting my trust into Bigme though, so that's what makes this a 5-star product. My advice would be to be clear on what you want and choose the Bigme product that fits your needs best. Original review below: I'm really on the fence about this bigme reader, and I feel like a three star review is pretty harsh, but I just can't bump it to four stars. I wanted a book in my bag at all times that I could hand to my 8 year old. It needed to have color and it needed to be able to run many different e-book apps - so I just wanted a long battery life and color screen. But the battery - even when selecting all of the power management options - still drains before my eyes. It has max a three day battery life. And that's something my phone would have if I used it as little as I use this tablet. So here's why I'm feeling a bit harsh with the three star review, but why I committed to it anyway: Pros: -the screen text is really nice. I've totally forgotten that I own a kindle. -this thing is very customizable right out of the box. If you are someone who looks through all the settings just for funsies, this device will not disappoint. -the colors in graphic novels are outstanding. - The static buttons at the bottom are nice, and it's amazing that I can reassign them - I've set the AI button to my preferred app, and it's really cool being able to have a verbal conversation with it from my e-book - it only cost about $190 max, and there are discounts around -It feels fast compared to my old kindle Big but for the cons: -I could have had all of this with a regular tablet for the same price, but it would have done everything better. -the edges of this reader are uncomfortable. It's pretty - but it's basically designed to need a cover that i didn't buy -there isn't any kind of splash or water proof rating! Not on their website, not on the product page. I basically bought an e-paperback. :-( Conclusion: If i had bought a tablet, it would have some splash proofing, it would have comfortable edges, it would actually be fast (not just feel fast for an e-book), it wouldn't have screen ghosting. So basically this feels like a gimmick. It's just not a better product than other things out there. The product page advertises weeks of reading, but that's absolutely not my experience. If it were, this would be a five star device. It would do everything really well for an e-book. Instead it's just a really poor tablet. I can't give this to my kid because it's not waterproof and the battery will be dead all the time. this was my first e reader and it was not the best lollll...i did a lot of research, watched a bunch of youtube and tiktok videos and came to the conclusion that the Bigme B6 would be the perfect first budget friendly e-reader!! but unfortunately it was not and i was bummed uughghgh lol the colors were so bad even after the system update and the system itself was SUPER slow, i even watched a bunch of videos to adjust settings etc. and it was still not that great, maybe it was user error? idk but i ended up returning it, maybe i should've went for the Bigme B7 or maybe the Boox color 7? idk, like i said this will be my first e reader and i wanted something that would have a bit of freedom but like i said this is my first e-reader so i came to the conclusion that maybe i didn't need all of that right now soooo i ended up going with the the Kindle color soft so well see how that goes lol still a good e-reader ig given that you could download pretty much any app you wanted via google play store but it just wasn't enough to keep it unfortunately.

Pretty neat for long flights or road trips! Nice to have all my books in one box. Having a whole library with me wherever I go is so convenient. I used to stress about which books to bring on trips, and now I just grab this and I'm set. The portability is unbeatable. The color screen is a nice upgrade from regular e-readers. Makes covers and illustrations actually look good. The reading experience is comfortable on the eyes - doesn't have that harsh screen glare like tablets do. Battery life is solid too. I can read for hours without worrying about it dying on me mid-flight or during a long car ride. The storage is plenty for all the books I could ever need. It's lightweight and easy to hold for extended reading sessions. Fits in my bag easily and doesn't add much weight. If you travel a lot or just want the convienence of having all your books in one place, this is perfect. Makes reading on the go so much easier!
