If you are new to big game fishing, this book will provide a lot of excellent information. It discusses equipment, different ways to fish, different types of bait depending on what you are fishing for, excellent places depending on the time of year, and much more. There are also some fun true stories about great fishing experiences. I did find the book somewhat repetitive at times, and I personally don't favor the approach of having only a single paragraph with each and every header. I know some people prefer that, as it is easy to read and find information, but to me, it makes the book choppy. ... show more

Easy read, there was some redundancy in the book. Did I mention there was some redundancy? Some entertaining stories were added that helped with the read. I was surprised that with the popularity of shark fishing that type of angling was never mentioned.

I loved this book. Clutton has a knack to draw you in through his stories about real people and their fishing escapades. But he also provides all the information you need for big game fishing. The chapters go from equipment to techniques to best practices to great locations and more.
