I was looking for some big bed transition books for my 2 year old son and ran across this one. He loves giraffes at the moment, so I thought, "Why not?" He LOVES this book! The colors are fun, the illustrations are very cute, and it seemed like my son was really able to relate to Giraffe, even with it being a fairly short story. We love the Hello Genius series and this book was no exception. When my daughter looked like she was about to climb out of her crib we got this book to help with the transition to a big kid bed. As with other books in the series, the pictures and text are simple and relatable for toddlers. The page about Giraffe potentially getting hurt helped us reinforce that it was not safe to climb out of the crib. The book also helped get my daughter excited about the benefits of having a big kid bed. I liked this over some other books I saw videos of on Amazon. The artwork is bright and interesting to my toddler. A bit simple, but that could also be a positive depending on what you're looking for. My one complaint is it talks about giraffe climbing out of bed. For me, my toddler is not doing that yet. My purpose for this book is to prepare her weeks ahead of getting her bed. I don't really want to discuss climbing out of her crib if she hasn't thought of that idea herself. It's a personal opinion, but was my biggest issue. I just come up with something else to say giraffe feels cramped in his small crib or giraffe wants a big kid bed.Also thought it was interesting they put a plug for their other books in the story twice 😐 Overall I am happy with this purchase and found it useful. ... show more

    • Simple, helpful, effective
Format: Board book
This book was a huge help in getting my toddler in the mindset of transitioning to a bed. We also used the Bye Bye Bottles book to help transition away from bottles. The books are short and simple, but make an impact in the process of accepting changes!

This book talks about going to a big bed. It can be hard for some littles to want to , but with this book. It shows how fun it can be and I think it can help with moving to a big bed.
