These have been a fun little addition to my plateware. They are smaller than a dinner plate, and slightly larger than a salad plate. Interestingly, they have raised lips which make them somewhat bowl like. I like this feature because it is better than a plate, but not as Rounded up as a bowl. This is a nice intermediate plate. Ordered these for dinner salads and pasta, and they are perfect for that purpose. Smooth finish, bright colors, good size, the weight is substantial. Feels like ceramic vs. porcelain, which is what I wanted. They *do* get hot in the microwave, which the description says, and they do wash fine in the dishwasher. But...(and who knows to even check this?) they do NOT hold up in the oven--in fact, they are NOT "oven safe". I put one bowl in the oven at 300 degrees to keep food warm, covered with foil, and placed it on a tray, so it was not directly on the oven rack. It was in the oven for about 25 minutes. When I took out the bowl, the bottom edges were scorched brown. Other than that, very happy with the purchase. ... show more
