The curtains came compactly packaged, which was the only problem, which I don't know they could have avoided. Because of this, they were wrinkled and creased in all the wrong ways. I have a steamer, which I have used on curtains that I had already hung. In this instance, I decided to iron the panels on a regular ironing board with a steam iron before I put them up. The iron worked wonders, and all the wrinkles came out. I then had to fold them where I wanted the new creases to be and gently ironed them. Once they went up, they look very good. The cloth is uniform and has a satin sheen. They do appear to do a good job with light blocking. No way to test the heat retention feature. Overall, I am very pleased with the way they look and hang, but you should plan on ironing them first before you put them up. Will definitely buy again when I decide to change some of the other drapes. ... show more

I bought these to block light and cool air for bedroom window. It’s a drafty room due to size of wi dow so I put plastic over it for the wi tee and then these went over an additional blackout curtain as a dual layer and they added another layer to keep the cold out. They work great, great quality and tons of colors. I got the black ones. I should have measured better because the fit the window lengthwise but I wanted a few inches longer than the window but don’t have it. They’re the exact length of the window so if you want extra length make sure to add it I. And pick the correct size. Oops!! They’re well made and thick but not too thick. These are pretty well made and have a decent thickness that blocks most light. The width however is a bit misleading. They are the width as advertised but to get a pleated look they cover about half the width they say so you need several more panels than you think you will. The more tightly pleated you hang them, the more light they block. So if stretched out flat, they don't black as much as pleated and the tighter the pleat, the darker the shade. They are not completely blacked out with no sign of light showing but for the price they do a very good job of it provided you don't hang them flat. ... show more

These are just what I wanted to cover the windows in my sewing room. They keep the heat in during the colder months and the heat our during the summer. They look nice too. I did iron them when they arrived to get the fold wrinkles out and they hang nice and straight. With the grommets that fit over the rods, they are east to open and close. Purchased these curtains for our entire home we just bought (Eleven windows). We went with the Emerald Green in the main areas. Then Burgundy, blue (not navy), and light pink and we love them. Used a gold curtain rods so the grommet doesn’t match but I’m going to spot paint those silver so they go with our kitchen mismatched metals and they look amazing. Had to steam them first but they unwrinkled easily from the packaging. I would recommend for living areas especially, if you’re looking for pitch blackout maybe not for bedroom. I bought these blackout curtains for my room. I live in Hawaii and it's bright nearly all day long. When I say it blocks out 99.9% light, I mean it. It literally does. Lol. That tiny missing percent is because if you don't thumb tack these to the wall completely flat then some light will be visible, a small crack of light to let you know there's daylight outside. Overall I'm very happy and satisfied will my purchase and will highly recommend these to anyone looking for blackout curtains for a decent price and great quality. I got navy blue and I'm happy with it. Neutral color and not flashly holiday tinsel shiny. For the price and the amount of positive reviews, you can't go wrong. I bought these for a spare bedroom with a smaller window. I would not really call them blackout curtains, but it is a spare room so it doesn't really matter.
