One of my bedroom windows faces due East, as does the head of my bed. So, every morning at the crack of dawn when the sun comes up, it fills my bedroom with LOTS OF LIGHT, which obviously wakes me up! NOT anymore! These curtains are AWESOME! I'm a big fan of hanging a variety of curtains on my bedroom windows. Sometimes I want a lot of light, sometimes a little, and sometimes none at all. These do not block out 100% of direct sunlight. They do the trick on indirect sunlight though. I hung mine on a rod that I bought decorative end caps for, using the back tabs option. It took me all of 5 minutes to remove my patterned semi sheers, add these to the rod and pop the patterned curtains back on. The material is nice without a lot of tacky shine to them. They are well stitched and the back tabs are spaced out nicely. I purchased the navy, because the navy blue is much more of a lightly darkened royal blue. My bedroom windows face west, and this photo was taken once the sun hit that side of my house. As you can see, they are blocking about 80-85% of the direct sunlight (obviously they are the solid panels, not the navy sheers in the center). ;) I was prepared to have to steam them when they arrived, but I hung them right out of the package. I did purchase them with the used option, so I can't say for sure that new ones won't be all kinds of creased. Very happy with my little purchase that makes a big impact on my bedroom and will definitely help make Saturday and Sunday morning sleeping past 6 am more feasible. ... show more

The curtains look nice, and they block light well. The curtain width is EXACTLY the width of the window, though, which means that if it's 0.02 millimeters off, you will get a ray of light shining brightly at you. It's annoying enough to kind of invalidate buying the curtain at all.
