I’d seen many YouTube videos showing the application of Beyond Paint on furniture, cabinets and cupboards and even tile floors. I’ve got an almond-coloured, old tub surround in my shower. I followed the directions for proper application and got to work. I bought the white colour option. This is the only bathroom in my home, so I was really hoping that this product would work. I used a small brush for the corners and beveled areas, and used a small foam roller for the larger areas. I applied 2 coats, waiting 24 hours between each application. Application should be reasonably light. Watch a few YouTube videos - they were very helpful. This photo shows a before and after. You really can’t tell that the tub surround was painted - it just looks brand new. There are no brush or roller marks. This is not a high-gloss finish. We may apply a sealant down the line, but it looks beautiful without one. I highly recommend this product. Yes, it costs more, but it also saves a lot of effort in not having to sand the entire area. I’m no longer able to do a lot of physical work, so this was well worth the cost to me. There was minimal odor from the product and clean-up was just with water. If you’ve been on the fence, I say give this a try. You will most-likely love Beyond Paint too. ... show more

This was my first serious attempt to paint a nice piece of furniture. It turned out very well. It was easy to use but took more coats to cover than I expected. It does leave an orange peel type texture which can hide a few minor flaws. I will use again

I had some serious doubts but thought it was worth a shot. After the first coat I did a scratch test with a fingernail, the paint came off. To the Detroit the paint, it had only been a few hours. I came back the next day and nothing came off!!! You will need a few coats if you are going from a medium pine to white. Impressed so far. ... show more

I was very excited to re paint by bathroom cabinet with this product especially with the advertised skipping of priming and sanding. I watched many YouTube videos on how to properly apply/ prep prior to attempting using this at home… I am writing this review to help others because I noticed several faults with this product and wish I never used it to paint my cabinet. First off the odor is VERY STRONG. I did not see this in any other review or on any advertising videos for application on YouTube. Not only is it strong when paining, it lingers afterwards. I painted my cabinet 2 weeks ago, and as soon as you walk into my guest bathroom you can smell the product. Was not expecting this. I have lit multiple candles / have a reed diffuser and fan running to help, but minimal change. The product is advertised as “no stir”. This is false and my batch (ordered white) was completely separated when I opened it. Thickness/ texture- this paint is thicker than normal paints however it left an undesired texture and sheen on my cabinet. I used the correct brushes as recommended with this product and waited 3 hours in between coats. It is sticky to touch when fully dry (even 2 weeks out from when I painted) I painted my cabinet white and it was originally dark brown… it took me 5 coats for full coverage and did not adhere well, despite using de greaser as recommended. Overall, I would not recommend this product and the outcome was not what I was expecting. It looks like a cheap paint job (and it was based off the price point of this paint). This might work well on a stock cabinet without any paint at all on it, however I am disappointed with my result and now want to rip out my cabinet in my bathroom. Back to the drawing board. Don't skimp on painting cabinets yourself with this product and invest in the proper tools. ... show more

Paint is very thick, used on dressers. Saw a YouTube video for this product thought I'd give it a try. No sanding required. It worked well but required 3-4 coats. Would be cheaper to sand and use normal paint

I've been using this Beyond Paint for years and it does the job nicely. I am impressed. It really does cover in one coat IF you use the darker colors. White is nice for walls and bathroom counters but if you're covering existing paint you will want to use Kilz before applying. Will use this seller for future paint purchases. ... show more

I couldn’t afford to replace my kitchen cabinets so I went the DIY route with beyond paint. 1 to 2 coats didn’t work for the smooth laminate, the initial coat had nothing to adhere to. Even when fully cured the paint scratches off relatively easily; a high traffic area like a kitchen needs the 2-coat sealant. Definitely paint thin, even coats to minimize brushstrokes. Paint consistency can vary container to container, perhaps because of varying age and warehouse temperatures; I recommend you buy all you need from the same seller in the same purchase.
