After our maiden voyage with the Beyond Marina 2-Person Discovery Inflatable Kayak, we were honestly super impressed. This kayak exceeded our expectations in several ways. First, setup was incredibly easy. Inflation was quick and straightforward, and we were on the water much faster than expected. Carrying the kayak to the water was also surprisingly convenient — lightweight enough to manage comfortably without sacrificing durability. One thing that really stood out was how easy it was to get in and out of the kayak. That may sound minor, but it makes a huge difference when you’re actually out on the water. Once we were paddling, the kayak felt stable, responsive, and very high quality. In fact, the material and overall construction made it feel much more like a hardcase kayak than an inflatable. It handled beautifully and was easy to maneuver, even for a first outing. The included storage bag is also a great feature. Unfortunately, mine arrived with a mis-stitch, but Beyond Marina’s customer service has already offered to send a replacement bag, which I really appreciate. The only learning curve so far has been packing everything back up. Getting the kayak folded and arranged back into the storage bag definitely took some trial and error. I had to fold and unfold the kayak three different times before I figured out how to comfortably fit everything back inside along with the seats, fins, paddles, and accessories. That said, we did eventually get it figured out, and I’m sure it’ll get easier with practice. It would be really helpful if the manual included some extra directions, tricks, or storage tips for repacking the kayak efficiently. Overall, I already know this is going to be a kayak we use often. The quality, performance, and convenience have made us huge fans after just one trip. I’m already looking into purchasing one of Beyond Marina’s inflatable paddle boards as well.

Bought this for a week long Kayaking trip. I was impressed at its quality. I was worried it would drift or be harder to handle than our individual small hard Kayaks, but it performed well. However, when we were in very shallow water, we ripped of one of the fins. It was then a bit harder to keep from drifting. I suggest carrying a spare fin or too, or be more careful than we were. We were also pleasantly surprised at how fast the Kayak is. For my beginner crew, it felt a bit tippy at first, but better than my heavy aluminum 15’ canoe. Anyway, I thought it was very stable and fun to use. I especially appreciate it is lighter, easier to transport, and more convenient than my canoe. My only real complaint is the seats it comes with are functional but could be better. I did buy some better seats with higher backs, which made a big difference on our next trip. I would suggest making better seats available an upgrade option. I knocked of a star because of the seats. Anyway, this is still a good value.

Stable, sits high in the water so maybe add weight if the wind is strong. Only tried it on flat water lakes. No trouble setting up or tearing down. It fits in the bag, but we didn't put the pump in the bag with it. We like the transportability. Left it inflated while canoe camping and it never lost air. Very rigid air compartments didn't collapse at all with weight in the kayak.

So yea, I dont know what i'm doing and never owned a kayak. After lots of research on inflatable kayaks, my wife and I settled on this even though it had very little reviews. The material and stitching looked good from the descriptions so we took the risk and can say am very satisfied. We got the 2 seater kayak and decided to test the limits for our test run. We paddled upstream with 2 Golden Retrievers on along with 2 people. It was very tight and stability was very tricky. We then installed the 2 fins and it was night and day difference w/ it being a lot more stable. A couple on a long canoe was shocked the kayak was inflatable and that i looked stable with the dogs. Using a SUP pump, inflating and deflating was a breeze. The bag included was also convenient as it fit EVERYTHING that came with kayak, however it was very heavy. The only negative is the seats are terrible but it seems like that is across the board for all inflatable kayaks. I'm sure there are better, and worse, kayaks but I had some expectations when buying and before hitting the water. This kayak exceeded them for the most part so I am very happy with the choice.

Very great creational kayak. We took it to river, lake, and sea (not open sea) without issue. Love the two fins, it makes the kayak stable and swift. The only issue is that it is jvery difficult to pack into bag once it is unpacked. Overall 4.6 rounded to 5.

Consider a different product for your floating needs. Extremely unstable in the water. A small wake from a nearby boat almost swamped us! The return process was horrendous. Had to pay $200 to have UPS ship it back to the seller with no guarantee of full refund. On top of that we had to hound their customer service just for them to finally process the return several weeks after delivery. There are better options.

I did a LOT of research before buying this inflatable kayak. Eventually settled on this one because I liked the drop stitched sides (same as my inflatable SUP), and it is the largest one I could find for hauling my kids and dog. So far I have taken it out three times (large lake, small lake, and a river), and have not been disappointed. Here are some pros and cons: + It is super stable, spacious, and it tracks well in the water. + The pump is great and inflation is surprisingly fast -- almost as quick as my SUP! + Comfortable seats -- especially after I put some padding underneath to sit a couple inches higher. This kept my butt from getting wet. + The high sides are great for both keeping water out of the boat and for keeping my dog from falling out. - I am fairly tall -- 6'2", so the aluminum paddles that came with it are too short for me. Might have to invest in a nicer 230cm paddle for me and keep the others for my passengers. - The bag is sturdy enough, but there's no way that the boat and components would fit in it at one time. I use the bag for the boat alone (which fits fine), and keep the pump, seat, paddle, fins, etc. in a separate SUP backpack. I wish they'd made a bigger bag, or at least made it wearable like a backpack. - Once assembled, whole thing is too heavy for one person to lift alone. Two people would be no problem, but most of the time I'm just with my dog, so I have to be careful not to drag the boat on the ground. - The side handles are nice for picking up the boat, but I tend to catch my fingers on them once in a while as I paddle. - The foot rests are too close to the seat positions to be of much use. It is designed to scrunch three small people in there, which I will likely never do. I wish they had put foot rest position options all the way down the length of the boat. That said, it is easy enough to get by without a footrest at all. Often I sit cross-legged. Overall I am still very pleased with the purchase. I went ahead and bought extra insurance in case of puncture, but I am not really worried about it. I have had my inflatable SUP for over six years now and taken it on 30+ waterways without any problems, so hopefully this boat will be similarly durable.

We had an inflatable kayak already, this one seems very sturdy and easy to inflate. We took some time adjusting the seats before we are using it, hopefully it s better to make small adjustments when we are on the water. Bag has wheels which was a big plus from our last one.
