  • Ok but..
Pattern Name: Fish Tank
Had it all set up and ready to put my betta in there and I noticed the bottom seal was leaking. I am returning it but decided not to replace with this one. Looks nice but the middle piece takes up too much room. A fish would almost have to always swim in a circle. Also, things look really distorted through the plastic and hard to see fish. ... show more

  • On the fence.
Pattern Name: Fish Tank
First week and it seems to be having issues. I have taken the pump and cleaned it twice already (as per instructions) and it works for an hour or so, then back to malfunctioning. The flow from pump is too strong and overflowing the top unevenly. Came back to a puddle of water. The water is not streaming down anymore and is now coming out of the bigger holes near filter. Hoping when I add plants it will subside, but not very confident overall happy. ... show more

  • Smaller Than I Expected
Pattern Name: Fish Tank
I know it's only a 1.2 gal aquarium, but it was still smaller than I expected it to be (yes, even after watching videos). I will say that it is VERY quiet. The water bubbles out through the top of the filter column and back down into the tank, but you don't year it. There's no hum from the filter itself. We don't have fish in it yet b/c I'm waiting for the nitrates to appear, but will add them next week. I've convinced my kids to get a small group of fish rather than just one, and we're excited to get some glow fish. BUT, even with the 7 colors of LEDs available, none of them is a true "black light" or really dark color, so I don't know if they will really even glow like they should. Regardless, my kids are stoked at the thought of their first pets and are very excited about their aquarium. ... show more

  • Its is ok
Pattern Name: Fish Tank
This product arrived quickly and in minimal waste packaging. The description says its a 1.2 gallon tank but with the giant ugly filter right in the middle its actually smaller. be aware if you put a live plant in the top it will increase the nutrients int he water which will cause scum and algae to grow. I honestly would recommend this for maybe one beta or maybe a fish that does good on its own. if you are going to put shrimp in here be aware that shrimp need specific temperatures to thrive and this does not have a heater attached to it. Its a good idea but for living animals its not really suitable. ... show more

  • Perfect Startup!
Pattern Name: Fish Tank
As someone who owns and runs a fish business this is my review. I’ll factor in other comments made too. This is being advertised as a tank for bettas, shrimp or small fish. I agree, it’s perfectly fine for all of those choices. 1. If you look at how betta fish are kept in stores, compared to that this will be amazing for them. Now, I own a sorority tank of bettas, and so keeping 30+ in a tank versus one this is great. 2. What I don’t recommend is keeping any type of goldfish in this tank. It’s not that they require the space, because they do but they put out more waste than other starter fishes. 3. Most betta’s are in a cup with nothing else, this tank offers great filtration and lights. 4. This tank is also perfect for other small fish, such as guppies. Or even “fry” fishes. My 55 gallon tank puts out daily 20-30 baby fish. My tank is heavily planted so they do survive perfectly fine. However, I like removing a few of them out of the tank, the ones or even the pregnant mom so she isn’t stressed out while giving birth. So making this a breeder tank, allowing kids or in this case our customers witness live birth is pretty amazing. 5. The ability for the plants on top is aesthetically pleasing but the holes make contact with the plant & the roots. Throw a good houseplant on top that produces just what every tank needs, and you just increased the tank capacity. There are so many myths out there on what fish need to survive, and yet much of the information left out are water parameters that can be altered to provide a better tank. Now, can you keep more than one betta in this tank? Well, in my 50 gallon tank there are 6 females and 1 male. Tank is big enough that the male doesn’t need to be aggressive. For this tank two female bettas sure but not forever given the bio load. Multiple guppies? Yea! The tank was better than expected and is the perfect first tank for anyone or an office desk. The filter ring has biological so eventually will establish overtime. When you wash it off, always use tank water. If you have existing tanks in the house, you can use that water to immediately establish the good bacteria. The rating is fair and not based on misinformation of what certain fish may or may not need. Also, I use sand whenever possible! Gravel is a mess. Waste falls below, you’re not going to gravel clean this. Waste on sand sits on top. Can get a small cleaner crew. One ghost shrimp and one small snail. It’s great! ... show more

  • Great beginner or small space Betta tank!
Pattern Name: Fish Tank
Love this little tank! I wanted something for my workspace that wouldn't require a lot of maintenance and this fits the bill perfectly! I have 1 beta and 1 little snail that keeps the sand on the bottom perfectly clean. The small plant I have on top also does its part to keep a healthy environment. The color lights are a fun bonus but I don't often play with that feature. The pump is so quiet I glance over to see if it is working and it is. Just enough power. It was easy to assemble and it is easy to maintain! I can easily see this setup being perfect for getting kids into this hobby. Just be mindful it is small, not meant for multiple fish. Just research basics if you are new to this fun hobby and keep your hands out of the water - amazing all the lotions, soaps, and natural oils people transfer into their aquarium which destroys the balance. Tap water is not your aquariums' friend, either. ... show more

  • A great starter aquarium.
Pattern Name: Fish Tank
Not sure what everyone's complaint about this aquarium is. It has a fair amount of space, a filtration system as well as lighting that doesn't have to be on all the time. Would I put more than one fish in here, no but there is ample space for one fish to live comfortably. I have a small betta and it looks healthy has a live plant and, hollowed rock house that he hangs out in. The only thing I will warn owners of this tank if you don't grow something from the tip is that cats will drink from the top so you'll need to be aware of water levels all the time. ... show more
