I installed this in an EliteDesk 800 G3. It was somewhat difficult to get the connection to the motherboard to engage. I had replaced a VGA module so I went back to the VGA module and found it just as difficult. So knowing the new HDMI adapter was probably fine I messed around with it until I got a proper fit. My intention was to put Linux on this machine and like many I saw the video die when the machine booted off my USB drive. The driver claims made no sense to me because this is not a video card, it is a port. I moved the USB drive to one on the rear of the machine, the bottom USB next to the one marked for a keyboard and tried again. The machine booted. I saw the boot loaded for my Vintoy drive and selected FreeBSD and it booted up with video. I tried several other ISO images and each one was able to boot and show video over HDMI. Apparently the choice in USB ports matters here. Don't use the ones on the front. Anyway, I got my desired Linux distribution installed. This is a great value and I am very happy with it. I hope this review helps others who have experienced trouble with Linux and claim the part is defective. If you are having difficulty with the overall installation, HP has maintenance videos on YouTube that show their field engineers how to install this part.

This part is identical to the original board and works just as intended. If you are watching videos on how to do this replacement it was very simple. Only 2 screw hold this board in place. I had to pop out the between the CPU heat sink and the back of the case to reach one screw but the cowling just sits there and does not have to be unscrewed or unsnapped. Only the 2 screws holding this module in place had to be removed. The whole procedure only took a couple of minutes (took longer to write this review).

A great add-on that lets you add HDMI output to your HP Elite desk 800 G4! Very easy to install and worked on the 1st attempt so no issues there. Come with 2 tiny screws in case you don't have them. You will need a magnetic tiny Phillips head and standard flat head screw driver to install this. They are not included.

Great product for the cost. I bought an old HP Mini PC that had the expansion port on the back for this. There was a Display Port in it but my monitor was already full on DP so I wanted to switch to HDMI. The built in HDMI had terrible resolution but when I added this one it solved both problems. It's now running a nice high resolution over HDMI. For the low cost this is great.

No matter what I tried I could not get this think to work. Even swapped in a HP 400 & 600 with HDMI port and it didn't work there. Def. will be returning this.

I recently picked up a 1L mini PC, the HP ELITE DESK 800 G3 and found it only came equipped with Display Port video outputs. I did a little research, found this item and ordered it from here. You simply turn off and unplug the computer from power, punch out the metal tab in the back of the mini PC and remove the 2.5" drive tray, (or remove the additional Display Port circuit board and replace it with this one) then set this in and push it towards the back panel and then press down until it clicks in place. I am happy to report that this unit included the two screws necessary to secure tiny circuit board in place. I then hooked up my monitor via HDMI and plugged the computer back in and turned it on and it works perfectly. No other adjustment or configuration is necessary. Don't worry that the connector on the bottom of the board is half the length of the connector on the computer. That is designed for different add-ons that require more connections and this simple HDMI connection only requires one of the connectors. This is a genuine HP product with all the HP documentation and packaging. Highly recommended!!!
