Very easy to assemble! I did it by myself in about an hour. You do need to balance on things OR have that second person when putting on the shelves. They do give you all the tools needed including a screw driver but def use a bigger one if you have my hands started getting a little blistered after a few screws. This desk is exactly as described. It was a very simply assembly. Only two items that we had concerns over: 1) the box arrived ate up and we were concerned about the items inside but all was well. 2) the crossbar section is not very strong and did bend a little during assembly. Much like most of us during COVID-19, I had to transform my home work station overnight to be sustainable for a long period of time. I am extremely happy with this desk. I live in a two-bedroom apartment with a roommate so I had to set up a desk area in my bedroom to act as my home office. This is the perfect desk for a bedroom-turned-office space. Plenty of surface area on which to work, but doesn't take up a huge amount of space in the room. I used one of the shelves on the side for my printer, and am able to keep my documents and redwelds in one place while working from home. I could have used an extra set of hands while assembling so that it would have been easier and taken less time, but it was easy enough. The desk is sturdy, strong, and a perfect addition to my bedroom. My main use for it is for studying and working on my laptop. All I placed on it were a couple of 4x7 pictures with frames, smalls books, desk lamp, and my laptop and it's holding up well. Assembling it took no more than 45 minutes by myself. While this desk has great aesthetics and practical shelving, it lacks a certain practicality for use as an office desk. I am a college student and bought this desk to study on in my bedroom, but it's lack of sturdiness has led me to question if this was a good purchase. As soon as I started using it, I noticed that simple tasks like typing on my computer or writing in a notebook would make the whole desk wobble and shake. The shaking is so disrupting that it will knock over books on the top shelf if I am not exceedingly gentle. I made a point to double back and tighten all of the screws, but this did not make a difference. Practicality aside, I will give this desk points for it's price, visual appeal, shelving capacity, and ease of assembly.
