This grapnel anchor is really overkill for a kayak/paddle board unless you are in some serious current. Solid materials and works very well. Unless you only use for emergencies, you will likely need to make some sort of spool to hold the anchor line. It can get tangled quite easily. Good for the money. ... show more

this anchor is amazing and I am so happy I got it for my paddle board. It holds my board with me on it firmly in place (~220lbs). It will hold more people you will just slowly move with the current/ wind but definitely not as fast as you would w/o the anchor. I had probably 500 lbs on it at one point and we moved slowly through the lake we were on but it still did a great job. This is one of my favorite paddle boarding accessories! On a windy day at the lake it can really help to give you a break from paddling against the wind without being pushed back where you were coming from
