If you receive this item and there are any issues, ie/missing parts, broken parts. Don't leave a negative review like a high and mighty pantywaist. Reach out to customer service, BE NICE and explain what the issue is. They were amazing to me and with the parts that were missing and extremely prompt with a resolution. Secondly, yes, there is assembly required. Yes, it will take some time. The 4 individual rooms come in separate packages, as well as the different room furniture, shops and accessories. It's not hard at all. It's like a simple puzzle. Once together, its awesome! If obvious assembly with the picture from the box in front of you isn't something you're capable of doing, select a different product. The price is amazing, leaving the consumer to assemble helps keep the price low. If assembling this item with the intention of leaving it together, definitely get some good strong glue to hold the rooms and stairway together. Once assembled it can be a bit flimsy and easily dismantled by excited, tiny hands playing with it. Gluing is up to you, so if it breaks due to rough play, that's on you, not the company. There are many small pieces, which makes for awesome creative play, but can be unsafe for any child who puts things in their mouths, noses or ears. I've never had that issue with my 3 year old, so this product is not a choking hazard for her. But it could be for other toddlers. Its knowing your child/grandchild. The beauty of this product is that with everything individually wrapped, you decide what gets introduced and what can wait. It can be opened in stages, starting with just the basic rooms and dolls. You can keep the other packages for future events, birthday, Christmas ect I still haven't opened all the bags! My daughter is having fun playing with the bedroom, bathroom and flower shop items. As another reviewer said, it is adorable, I know my imaginative child will have hours and hours playing with this!

The media could not be loaded. The cottage I got does not resemble the one advertised (see video). Still, it is extremely cute. We have had a couple of ice days here in Austin, so I had plenty of time to work on it! It truly is like putting together a puzzle! There are no directions. It took me HOURS to put it together. In the end, I had pieces left over that do not appear to fit anywhere. I will say, I enjoyed assembling it, and I am very satisfied with the final result. It has lots of little detailed accessories, and I love the working lights. I glued a lot of the pieces in place. I know my granddaughters will love it, but I’m pretty sure they will demolish it in no time, since they are only 1.5 and 3.5 years old. I really think it’s probably mor appropriate for children 5 and above.

Got this for my son cause it's not girly and he loves playing house. It's honestly a great toy house. I love that u can change the floor plan, so it can be 4 stories high or two story side by side. The only down side is that if you use all the parts, u will do nothing but pick up things the whole time so we literally use maybe 1% of ice creams and donuts, flowers an so on. Some tiny items were missing but again, it came with a lot anyway an we keep them as backups. I love that each room has a light. You cants easily move it around without it breaking but the pros outweigh the cons for me and most importantly is my son loves it!!

I love the details, the towers and levels come off quite easily so calm 6 year olds or older are best suited for playing with the doll house. The intricate details are satisfying. I love how the lights really work and the fence pieces go together. Ther versatility is fun. The stair case levels do not hold well and don't go together very easily. And the fence pieces and house platforms do break easily at the tabs. For the price and amount of items received it is nice.

Despite other reviews, I found this set to contain a LOT of high quality pieces and accessories. The building pieces are very sturdy and assembly was quite easy. The trick is to press all assembled pieces firmly until aligned tightly into "floor" section. The decorations (bakery items, food containers, flowers, vases, garden tools, etc.) are detailed and plentiful! The working ceiling and street lights are really fantastic and surprisingly work with Calico Critter room ceilings too. Their customer service is extraordinary! When I contacted seller about a small amount of missing parts (several flowers and cart canopy), they generously sent me an entire 2nd set! I would strongly recommend this adorable set to anyone using the various 1:12 critter characters.

I bought this for my 6 year old who is very gentle with her toys. I already knew from reading the reviews that the product came without instructions and that the structure is not easy to move from place to place. Not having instructions was annoying but wasn’t a big deal. My husband figured it out no problem. It’s pretty self-explanatory to put together, it just takes time. However, two pieces broke in the process of putting it together. One was the chain for the swing and another was a peg on the walls of the structure. I was disappointed with this since it seems to me a toy made for children should be made to be more durable. The light on the ice cream cart did not work when I inserted batteries into it. The structure is difficult to move around—not because of its size but because of its fragile design—and impossible to move without taking it apart somewhat. The floors and stairs come apart at the least movement. I’ll probably end up having to glue most of the pieces together. In the end, the 4 star rating is due to the number of pieces and the unique features the set came with. The outdoor lanterns and indoor ceiling lights all work beautifully. Many similar children’s sets come with only a handful of the smaller items, such as ice cream cones and flowers; this set came with a very generous amount of all of the tiny pieces, which helps in case some should get lost.
