  • Great jacket ☆♡☆
I love this jacket ! Its well made ,warm and durable. It fits great and extra pockets on the interior. It's is very comfortable. Definitely a thumbs up !!!!!

  • Very nice coat
Size: 6X-Large Tall Color: Brown Duck
Extremely happy with the cost. Good zipper, quality construction and quality sewing. The length is long. Almost like a big guy wearing a mini skirt length. The pockets are upfront and are kinda worthless on a large guy who has a large stomach. The pockets need to be more on the sides of the coat . The fit is very nice. When you have a large belly it can be hard to get it zipped up. I had to sit down to zip up the coat. Being a big guy is not always easy like it is for a normal sized person. ... show more

  • Comfortable and warm! Feel the Berne!
This coat has what looks like great build quality, with triple stitching, nice materials and gusseted shoulders. 27° weather today and snowing, cuffs sealed arms in, zipper works well and hood is well shaped kept me warm and dry. I like the design better than Carhartt and at a lower cost. Two inside pockets are useful. I ordered a tall size and fit was great. Not overly heavy. Great form and functionality. Would buy again. • Nice coat
Size: 6X-Large Tall Color: Brown Duck
I really like this work coat. I initially picked up a Carhartt Bartlett 4XLT, which I liked everything about except the front length (too short) and the zipper (too small). I sent it back and ordered this (Berne Heritage Duck) in a 5XLT and 6XLT. I'm 6'4" and 350lbs and the 5XLT fit perfectly. It's not too big, but I can still layer underneath. When getting into my truck, it doesn't feel bulky and I'm not annoyed by the hood. The length is about mid crotch, or a few inches below my waist. The elastic at the waist is not tight, which for me is a good thing, I don't like that restriction. To be a bit more clear about my size, think of an NFL linebacker. I don't carry all of my weight in my midsection, so consider that when deciding on a size. The 6XLT was pretty wide on me. Everything else fit like the 5XLT, but just with the added width. With Amazon free returns, ordering a couple different sizes and sending back the ones that don't work is pretty easy. To expand a bit on the differences between the Carhartt and Berne, the Carhartt is a nicer coat overall, but it's also twice the price, so perhaps it's not fair to compare apples to oranges, but let's do it anyway and see who comes out on top. I'll try to break down some of the features below and compare the two. Material: Both are made of similar canvas-like material, but the Carhartt material looks a little nicer and is a bit softer. Perhaps the Berne material will soften over time. I don't really care about this, but someone might find this information useful. Berne has more of a working man look and feel if that makes sense. Carhartt seems to have moved toward fashion, but I can't say if that has anything to do with the difference in material. Warmth: The Carhartt is a heavier coat and seemed a little warmer because of that, but I didn't compare them in the same environments. I was warm with both of them on different cold days. I was out in my Berne the other night in 20 degree weather with 30mph wind and it kept me perfectly warm. I'm sure the Carhartt would have done great in that scenario as well. I don't feel comfortable picking a winner here. Fit: Berne wins for someone of my size because of the length in front. It just feels good. See the above description for more details. Pockets: Berne pockets are more in the front, which I'm guessing is a bit more useful for holding and retrieving things like tape measures, etc. They are less comfortable than the Carhartt pockets as a result, so this is a personal preference depending on how you'll use the coat. I personally like the Carhartt pockets for myself since I won't be doing construction or anything like that. Both coats have inside pockets on both sides for wallet & phone. The Carhartt has chest pockets as well, but the Berne does not. Carhartt wins the pocket category, but again, this is a personal preference. Zipper: The Carhartt zipper is small and kind of hard to manage with bare hands, let alone gloved hands. The Berne coat has a bigger and much easier zipper. Berne wins this hands down. Hood: The Carhartt hood is huge, falling down over my eyes when looking ahead. The Berne is maybe a little too small for my liking, but at least I don't have to keep fiddling with it to see. My wife says it looks fine and that I'm being picky. I would like it to hang down to my eyebrows, but it's a couple inches away from that. Maybe I have a long neck or something. The Berne still wins this category, but I wish the hood was just slightly bigger. Arm length: Both were more than adequate, I have no complaints about either. I prefer the Carhartt only because of the design at the wrist where that cuff continues past the elastic. It's just nicer looking, but not a big deal. Ok, so it seems like I liked the Carhartt better based on the comparisons, but the Berne won the deal breaker categories. If the Carhartt fit like the Berne and had a bigger zipper, I'd probably be wearing the Carhartt, but the fit is kind of a big deal. I'm more than happy with the quality of the Berne and am more than happy to wear it, especially knowing it was half the price of the Carhartt. ... show more

  • Excellent Coat
Size: XX-Large Color: Brown Duck
Excellent coat. Warm. Tough. Minor complaint is that although zipper seems strong and high quality, it could be smoother. I have been trying the pencil graphite trick to lubricate.

  • So good, I bought two!
Size: Large Color: Black
6'4", 190lbs. I first puchased the regular large sized jacket, mostly to be used for my work as a carpenter. I have a thin athletic build, with slightly longer arms. The reg large jacket fits perfectly for my needs. Not too tight and the sleeve length is perfect. Plenty of room for an underlayer/reg hoodie. Bottom of jacket does hike up slightly when bending over/crouching but that's to be expected. The reason I didn't get the large tall was because I didn't want the excess of the length to be a safety concern, working around table saws and such, as well as be a hinderance while wearing a tool belt. The gusseted material under the arms helps tremendously for movement while working, as well as driving. Works perfectly in blocking cold winds, and keeping heat in. Has no problems with durability, although I've noticed it tends to attract dust and dirt from the jobsite quite easily..but no worries; a quick dustoff or regular washing takes care of that. Front pockets aren't insulated but that doesn't matter to me much....I shouldn't be standing around with my hands in my pockets at work anyways. The jacket is so warm, durable, and good looking, that I bought a second one! The Navy jacket to get dirty at work, and a black one to keep clean and wear normally. Great work jackets at a fantastic price! ... show more

  • Nice Jacket, good price
Size: X-Large Color: Brown Duck
This is a nice jacket at a good price. It resembles a big brand name that starts with a "C" . Less expensive. It is very warm, the zipper is robust, and the material is great. I do not hesitate to recommend this jacket. A great rugged work type outerwear that is built solidly with excellent workmanship. ... show more

This coat fits true to size. I ordered a large tall and it fit our son who is 6'1" 190 lbs. He loves it. This material quality is very good, style for length great, He works out side and he said it is comfortable, keeps him warm, and not heavy.
