I started using these several years ago after someone told me about them. My favorite way to use them is take a lead jig hook & tie it onto your line or leader, put a black and chartreuse tube jig on then take a Crappie Nibble and put it on the tip of the hook. I then let it free fall to the bottom (We fish in about 20 - 30 ft of water) and slowly reel up. You will feel a hard thump of a crappie taking the jig into its mouth and that's when you set the hook. Since the Crappie Nibbles are quite soft, they do not effect the hookset whatsoever, which is nice. Like someone else stated in their review, if you leave the lid off they will firm up a bit. While we still catch fish without the nibbles, they defiantly result in more bites when we use them. Enough so that I buy them yr after yr & that's saying something because I won't waste my money on products that don't work. I should also state that I have only used the chartreuse colors.
