Why are people complaining that these are turning silver or black flaking off? Of course they will because of overuse, these are thinly plated with gold for the appearance, same for the black flaking. No dishwasher, no soaking them, a soft sponge wash (no scouring) and dry off immediately for water spots. They are not meant for everyday wear . These are not that expensive and can be replaced later. I purchased these only for special occasion dinners to go with my fancy plates and goblets. So if your intention is to use these as everyday wear prepare to be disappointed! However they are lovely and sturdy and put away for when I need them. ... show more

These look nice and they don’t necessarily feel as cheap as they cost. For example the edges of the fork aren’t as rough and thin as some other inexpensive flatware, and the spoons and knives have a weighty feel to them. But after 2, yes 2 times in the dishwasher on a regular cycle (no extra heat, not pots & pans settings) I am starting to see the black on some of the handles chipping off. And while I don’t mind it, some may find the thin flat handles hard to eat with. This isn’t surprising, seeing as they have just been wrapped with what is essentially a black sticker in order to achieve the two-toned look. For the money this set is just fine if you want to hand wash or if you just accept that it won’t last very long. ... show more

I bought these for the color and they have held up admirably, even with multiple dishwasher runs. Which I didn't expect since so many "copper" or "rose gold" finishes never last. These were a good surprise.

The color is nice but they’re just cheap/a quick fix/for now set. The forks are way too small and flimsy for me. I like the spoons. We’ve been moving a lot for work and don’t stay in one place for too long. I will donate these in a few months.

Overall the flatware is very nice looking. The finish was mostly good (see below for specifics), and arrived individually wrapped in plastic with no scratches. The handles were thinner than I expected, which would be a comfort issue when using the knife or fork for cutting, but otherwise they are nicely proportioned. The table spoons and dessert spoons are nicely shaped and sized, and the dinner forks are also a good size. Oddly, the dessert/salad forks have the same size head as the dinner forks, with a shorter handle. I've not seen that before now. The finish of the handles was good in all the items I inspected (I had the meteorite handles), but there were some issues with the plating. Out of every set (I bought 4 sets of 20), almost every knife had issues with missing plating at the serrations (see the photos). The forks and spoons were all fine. I had also purchased the matching serving set and interestingly the cake knife in that set also had issues with its plating. After contacting the company regarding those issues and receiving a poor response, we decided to return all of it and buy from a company that stands behind their products with more than just words. ... show more
