I bought this 7 months ago and continue to be impressed by it. I am a hobbyist. I make small models for fun and sell them on Etsy. I love this thing! I would not use it to earn my living through construction or home building, but for small wooden or plastic items it is great. Two things it has that most cheap hobby drills don't have but I need are: 1.) Depth read out so I don't drill deeper than 9mm--yes, it reads out in millimeters so I suggest you learn to use metric a little bit. There is a depth stop but it is easy to zoom past it if you go too hard. 2.) Drill speed read out. I can't go too fast or the bit will get too hot and melt my plastics, I stay around 350 RPM. This is useful information most little hobby drills don't give. There is a laser beam which I don't use and found it to be not very accurate. Glad I don't need it. Also, someone said the digital read out didn't work. I thought mine didn't work either and was ready to send it back. But it does work. I am short and could see the readout when I stood up but not sitting down. I solved that by sitting on a higher stool while drilling. So I am really enjoying having this drill press and love what I can do with it.

Not a Great Tool

This Bachin drill press was expected to be of a marginal quality, but I didn't expect it to become unusable during the first job I had purchased it to perform. The job was drilling into a granite countertop to enlarge existing holes. The diamond drills did create a lot of vibration, but on the third hole I was enlarging, the speed control became unusable and the motor would rev to 1100 rpm and then shut down. If you are drilling very easy materials this might be okay, but I would not expect one to be able to use it long term.

Is more than great for small projects or high precision. If additional devices are attached, can be converted into a mini-mill, but for soft materials. Other than that is noisy, would be better having a magnetic motor instead of brushed. Personally I am using it for projects in microelectronics in my private e-shop almost daily (for 4-6 hours) with no issue. Until now 🙄

The lasers will need adjustment. There is a secret clue to doing this: remove the two stickers on the tight bottom side of the green plastic body panel to access two hidden holes that allow you to use an allen key to loosen and then turn the laser lenses.

Decent Design, but Lacks Stability
Style: Bench Drill Brushed digital display 800W
Decent idea, but stability is a major issue I really wanted to like this drill press because the design and features look great for the price. The digital display and variable speed control are nice additions, and it’s compact enough for a small workspace. However, the biggest problem is stability. When drilling, especially into metal or harder materials, the machine tends to wobble quite a bit. The vibration makes it difficult to keep the drill bit steady, which affects accuracy and overall confidence when using it. I’ve tried securing it better and adjusting settings, but the issue is still noticeable. It might be okay for very light-duty work, but for anything that requires precision, it’s not ideal. Overall, it has potential, but the excessive vibration is a deal breaker for me.
