    • It Was a Good Juicer That Turned Bad...

I purchased the BELLA High Power Juice Extractor back in late January to begin a Reboot (from "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead) for myself. In the beginning, I loved this juicer because it was powerful enough to juice harder fruits like apple halves and wasn't too noisy. But over time, I found it more difficult to use and poorly made. After over two months of daily usage, my juice extractor was getting louder, the catcher bin was receiving even wetter pulp, and less juice was coming out compared to my other batches. Even an edge off of the plastic top broke. Finally last week, I was running cut pieces of fennel through the juice extractor on high speed when suddenly, I heard and felt something blow inside the machine (like a tire popping on a car) as it started rattling and pounding erratically on my kitchen counter. It scared me so much, I grabbed the machine quickly with my left arm and turned off the machine with my right hand. I felt that heavy thing on the inside come to a rest. I checked the filter basket and the top pieces to see if everything was fitted properly. They were. So out of curiosity, I started it again, but this time on low. As before, it started with a grinding noise and then quickly started rattling and pounding itself down on my kitchen counter again. The only difference this time though was the smell of burning plastic. I did it a third time and it was the same, scary situation. So I ended up saying "Goodbye" to what I thought was a good investment in my health. After this all happened, I read a few more reviews about this particular juice extractor and two of them had stories somewhat similar to mine ("Literally exploded like a bomb, in our faces!!!" and "broke in less than 3 months."). They experienced the grinding noises. But unlike mine, their extractors blew up after they heard the noises. It is scary to think that I could have experienced what these individuals went through or even worse. It also worries me that there is more than one story about this juicer exploding. This product may have been high-powered and working great in the beginning, but it cannot sustain daily usage in the long run. For something that heavy on the inside to come loose mid-juicing as it did in just over 2 months of ownership is ridiculous, dangerous, and shows poor craftsmanship. Due to this, I am contacting BELLA about my experience as well as the reviews I have read. I do not even want a replacement. Now I have a Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus (850-Watt) Juicer Extractor. It's 250 watts less than the BELLA, but it appears to be just as powerful as the BELLA was in the beginning. I also like the handle that locks down the top part of the machine (the metal bar is much easier to push and lock than the BELLA's was and more comfortable on the hands with its round, smooth surface than BELLA's flat, edged surface). But I'll write its review when more time passes (and hopefully not any time soon). In conclusion, don't get the BELLA 13694 High Power Juice Extractor. Invest in a better juicer, especially if you juice daily. ... show more

This machine works great. I bought this one as gift for my stepson and his girlfriend. My wife and I have owned the same model for about 5 months. She did a 30 day juice after watching Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead and our machine was used at least twice a day during that time. The clear plastic has become slightly stained from all the use but it hasn't cracked. I use it to make beet juice and it tore the chunks up with no problem. It does make a lot of foam but we just use a slotted spoon to filter it. Be sure to lightly drop your cut up fruits/vegetables down the chute and let the weight of the push tube do the work; if you do it right the chunks will bounce a couple times and the blade will chop them up fast. If you try to force it you'll load the motor and won't get as much juice. I also re-juice the pulp, especially with beets and carrots, and am able to get more juice out. I also recommend taking extra fruit/vegetable bags from your supermarket to use as liners in the pulp bin for easier clean up. One final recommendation: a thin layer of crust will build up in the clearance channel under the blade unit where it mounts to the motor coupling. I use a butter knife to scrap it and it flakes right off. It does take time to clean, but I recommend this machine. ... show more

Bueno este producto lo use sólo por 21 días y entre esos días tuve que ordenar la tapa que se rompió usándolo. La guarde hasta ahora que decidí usarlo de nuevo y se dañó de una usada. Prendió y me dejo triturar dos frutas y después se apagó y no sirvió más. No lo recomiendo

    • Juices Well but Downsides Make it a Loser

Bought this specifically to juice celery in the morning. I loved the juicer I had before for this task but gave to a friend before I discovered it is no longer available on Amazon. Pluses: (1) It excels at juicing celery and separating dry pulp. Minuses: (1) It's pretty loud so I have to shut bedroom doors so it doesn't wake the entire house. (2) The manual warns it can damage countertops so I place it on a large washable pad. I also found out it drips where the juicer meets the spouted cup to catch juice. (3) It's pretty heavy and HUGE on countertop - a lot bigger and heavier than my last unit. (4) It's a MONSTER!!! to clean and if you juice different items multiple times a day, you'll spend more time cleaning and drying it than juicing. Uggh. Not worth it in my book. I'm gonna try to return it since I kept the original box and packing, but I used it for 6 days and don't know if they'll accept it back used. ... show more
