I'm sure the helmet will be great. It looks good and fits well. My issue is with the add for the product. My helmet came with a clear visor. This helmet model was listed and shown in several configurations with varying prices. Every photo of my model has a black visor which most models showed as an additional item for $30-40. When compared to the other helmets I was considering this helmet was the most expensive but the inclusion of a black visor swayed me. After cool and hot weather riding I can say this helmet is a great value. I really dig it. I did have to order thinner check pads to be a bit more comfortable, but I have a round face. It is not a quiet helmet nor does it posses super high air flow qualities. It flows enough to be reasonably comfortable in hot weather, but not enough to freeze you out when it's brisk out. I added a good tinted visor and now I look like Master Chief when I ride :) The sun visor/roost guard does catch a little wind at higher speeds, but the helmet is pretty light so it's very manageable. Overall I would recommend the MX9 Adventure to those looking for an ADV helmet at a lower price point but want a quality piece. I put a Cardo unit on and thoroughly enjoy exploring on my WR250R. ... show more

I've worn Bell helmets for almost 50 years and have always been grateful for the top-notch protection and comfort. The MX-9 Adventure carries on that Bell reputation - this is one great helmet. The option of thinner (or thicker) cheek pads made getting the perfect fit easy. The MIPS gives me an extra measure of protection and confidence. The only trade-off for all this protection and comfort is a little bit of extra weight. It's not bothersome, just noticeable after a day off-road.     • Perfect Adventure Bike Helmet

I've owned a number of Bell Helmets over the years and switched to another (more expensive) helmet when I started racing sport bikes where the odds of actually needing it increased. Now I'm older and I mostly commute or ride out in the country on weekends. Helmet prices have gone through the roof on those other helmets so I came back to Bell. I can't say enough about how well it's made, feels and works. The shield is easily swapped out (I bought the darker shield). I'm in AZ and the sun is brutal. I ride a Honda Africa Adventure bike and this is not just the style for this type of bike but the long visor helps shield my eyes from the sun in early morning rides or just coming home from work in the evening.     • This is working out as a BMX helmet that's large enough
My head circumference is 63cm as far as I can tell which is 7-7/8 to 8 hat size. I tried a 2XL helmet. I could get it on my head, but it was too small. The 3XL fits better. I use it for BMX. I was concerned that the mouth guard would block my view, but it doesn't. The visor is fine, but I have to tighten the plastic screws to hold it in place. The carrying bag is nice. I wear glasses, and I can't put the helmet on or off without removing my glasses. Also when the helmet is on, there is a little side pressure on the side pieces of the glasses. It hasn't caused any problems not did my glasses move out of place. The helmet doesn't feel too heavy. It's working out fine for BMX. My 2 youngest sons also have very large head circumference about 98-99 percentile. My 4 year old already measures for a medium adult size. ... show more

    • Product description incorrect. No shield.

The product page is titled "Bell Unisex-Adult Off Road Helmet". The item in my Orders page is called "Bell MX-9 MIPS Equipped Motorcycle Helmet (Solid Matte Black, Large)". This is important, because the MX-9 MIPS and MX-9 Adventure MIPS are two different products. The description, on the color I ordered, says MX-9 Adventure MIPS. The price is right for the non-Adventure model. The key difference is that only the Adventure model has a shield. The product description claims "Helmet ships with clear shild. NOT Tinted." What I received does NOT have a shield, nor does it have a "shild". This matches the pictures, which do not show a shield. This is the base MX-9 MIPS with no shield and I don't think you can purchase a compatible shield. The overall product seems fine otherwise at a glance, but I wanted one with a shield for winter riding so I'm going to have to return it. Getting a cold weather version of a Scorpion AT950 instead. ... show more

    • Outstanding helmet for the price.
This helmet is exceptionally well made. The quality fit and finish is first rate. It’s a little heavy but I think that is a function of the quality. If your head shape fits a Shoei you’ll be comfortable in this. For the price this is a first rate helmet. I will be buying another one for my kid. He has a good helmet, this is better. ... show more
