This is sold with for the purpose of being stuck on the back of a Tesla screen, and it's great at that. It works much better than the screen-corner-grabbing approach to the same problem; I have a few no-name versions of that, and they always eventually fall off or at least move around and require regular re-tightening. The suction cup that Belkin uses here instead is very high quality and hasn't budged at all in my use. As you'd expect from Belkin, everything seems very durable and well made. But! If the monitor on your desk has a smooth back, you can *also* stick this on there and have a very nice desktop phone charger that leaves your actual desktop entirely clear. If you reverse the arm on the suction cup so it points the other way, and mount it on the top of your monitor or laptop, you can use it as a Continuity Camera mount. If you want to mount your phone to anything smooth at all -- like say a bathroom mirror -- this is one of the better solutions I've come across. ... show more

    • Mounting surface is key
The reason why this phone mount specifies "for EV" is because it works best on a mounting surface that is flat, solid, and preferably vertical, such as the back of a typical EV center screen. Adhesive is all there is to stick the rubber disc base onto the mounting surface, no suction. It is important to totally untighten the mounting knob when sticking the base because tightening will pull the center of the disc away from the mounting surface. I have mixed feelings about the wireless charger. You can do without the wireless charger here and just plug the charging cable directly into your phone for faster and more efficient charging. The cable port on the wireless charger is in an awkward position for frequent plugging/unplugging. If you use the wireless charger, then mostly likely the cable will stay plugged in all the time, dangling unsightly. The wireless charger itself is very good, pumping about 15W into my iPhone. I have no complaint about the magnetic mount. It holds my phone with magsafe case securely. Overall build quality is good. This mount can be very satisfactory if you find a suitable location to mount. ... show more

Ok so this MagSafe mount/charger is exactly the kind of top notch quality I would expect from a well established tech brand like this! I am going to be honest and say I haven’t mounted it yet, I can feel how sticky the back is for mounting and I really want to feel confident in placement before choosing something because by the feel of this, it’s not going anywhere! The components are all top quality and not cheap. The metal is extremely sturdy, and not flimsy. There are multiple ways to adjust the position and lock it. Which is both easy, and a sturdy hold once chosen and locked. I cannot stress enough how quality and strong this is, you can feel the weight of it in your hand, and it seems like they designed it with all the little details in mind. The hinge for phone position is easy to adjust as well but does take some strength, which I appreciate because it tells you it is not flimsy or like cheaply made kinds that will un adjust your adjustments if you know what I mean! I have tried multiple magnet mounts on this charger and none will charge longer than a few seconds. The listing advertises as being compatible with mag mount cases up to 3mm thick. Cases and just magnet were thinner than this. I replaced charging cable and charging adapter to no avail. The cable and charge adapter work great as a car accessory but not wirelessly. The mount holds the phone securely and even larger bumps didn't dislodge the phone. The base has a great attachment force holding it to my console well. The price and therefore value would be good IF the charging portion worked. As of now I'm left with a great secure and easy to use mount, but no charging wirelessly. ... show more

This thing is great. I already had a magnetic mount on the corner of my car’s screen, but I hated that it didn’t charge. This one works just as well as a magnetic mount while keeping my phone charged! I appreciate that it lights up when plugged in, reminding me to unplug it when not in use. The magnet is strong, even through my phone case (though the case is MagSafe compatible), and it charges quickly. It doesn’t shake too much and seems to be durable and well-made. And it fit on the mount I already had, so I didn’t have to worry about swapping the base out! ... show more
