We have a 14.5 ft 80 lb canoe. After reading the reviews, I felt the 1.5 lb anchor would meet our needs. In calm water with no wind it does fine. However, if those conditions change, it does not hold. The anchor itself is well made, great design and good quality. My advise is to spend the extra $10 and get the 3.5 lb. I went with the 3.5lb and it holds my canoe pretty good. The line color is perfect to see it below the surface. When recovering the anchor it spins and binds the rope. So I gotta find a way to avoid that. Overal pretty good.
