TL;DR - you need to realize this is effectively a remote display for the (excellent) app that runs on your phone and does all the work. It does not have a gps receiver. This is actually a good thing! This is a review of both app and Moto unit since they are both required… I was honestly skeptical at first when I saw the Beeline Moto flooding my social feed. After 2+ hours fighting with wonky Garmin apps and processes to plan a specific route on my 396, I took to Amazon and was happy to see the Beeline Moto was available for next day delivery. So a bought it! The cool thing is that, while I was waiting for the device to arrive I was able to open the app and start planning my route, which was a three hour back-roads ride to get my new motorcycle’s first service complete. Without even a test run, the route was nearly flawless, and the only challenge I had was with an impassible access road, but that was a google map data issue and no fault of this app. I passed by the wonky road and the app quickly rerouted me toward my next waypoint. I have to say this setup is nearly perfect. For my needs anyway. I love how the app makes it so simple to plan a route and ride. All the work is done by the app and the phone’s processing, and the Moto device is merely a display…and an excellent one at that. Direct sunlight readable (unlike my phone and even my Garmin), and minimalist nav guidance that is viewable even without my prescription glasses. I thought I would miss not having upcoming street names, but I didn’t! The visuals are so intuitive it takes the three turns to get the hang of it. I quickly started trusting the device and all went well. I am a huge fan now and I’ll promptly be selling my Garmin 396. Beeline is the future of motorcycle navigation, and, happily, it’s here now! ... show more

Off the bat for something small it works best part about it is you can take it off one motorcycle and put it on to the other motorcycle a twin the best GPS I ever had and will have and if I lose it I’ll buy another one

The screen in smaller than it like on the photos, in fact device is very light and compact, which is good. The arrow is easy to see, but the more important parts like next turn distance and direction are much smaller. There are some they features you'd expect from a navigator, like the ability to end the route when the destination is reached (so far you need to click stop button in the app) or stop/pause functionality on the device itself (that's also phone only). The buttons don't do much, you can see the charge status and the speed. The battery seems to hold well, though. Overall nice device but a bit too simplistic for the price. ... show more

I bought this after seeing a demo for the Royal Himalayan integrated nav, same as Beeline, plan a route on your phone then put your phone away and just have a simple dial tell you when to turn. No clutter, easy to read. The Beeline app plans routes very well, on par with Google or Apple maps for simple trip planning. It has a feature over those that I like in that it records those ride with stats so you can look back. You can also record a ride that Beeline didn't plan. Navigation is simple. The big chevron points the way you should be going. The displayed mileage, which turns to yards under one tenth of a mile, is the distance to your next turn and the dot next to the chevron is the direction of that turn. Simple. The display is clear and simple to read dramatically reducing the time your eyes are off of the road. Literally only one nit to pick, the distance to go to the turn is always off. You are making the turn with the display still saying 20 to 40 yards to go. Usually not a problem but could be in a complex intersection. ... show more

This small thingy-gps is amazing ! It’s really accurate on turns which was one of my biggest concerns ! The App is really friendly and it let’s you plan and review routes very easily, even add waypoints you want to take detours or know of any problems on the recommended routes… it does “re-calculate” routes if you have internet. It only makes you go back to your original inflection point if you are data-less, pretty smart ! 100% LOVE IT ! And it’s so sleek and small ! Well worth the price tag !!! ... show more

What a great navigation tool. Follow the enclosed directions; download the app on your smartphone; charge the battery; install on your handle bars or fairing; pick your destination on your smartphone; connect via Bluetooth; have a nice safe ride. I glued my mount to the fairing of my motorcycle and it has withstood the +110° F heat all summer with no problems. It works best in bright sunlight and is easy to read. I haven’t used it at night, but suspect it will be difficult to see. It does not appear to be backlit. The app was as easy to use as any of the other smartphone navigation applications I have used. It is very similar to Apple Maps or Google maps. If you miss a turn it will reroute you like most similar apps. It is much easier to read and interpret than any of the other navigation apps I have used while riding in bright sunlight. It has too many great programmable features to cover here, but I do like the direction finder mode, where it basically just points towards your final destination and lets you navigate to get there. It would be great for hiking or riding off road to keep from getting too lost. The battery lasts much longer than I am willing to ride. It recharges fairly quickly on its own special charger adapter. Having to keep track of that charge adapter is probably the only negative aspect. Hopefully, future versions will come with mini USB or Fire wire universal charge ports.
