I was a bit skeptical, but my spousal unit's reaction clinched it. After unboxing, I washed it in cold water and dried it on regular (not hot) heat to remove any potential unwanted chemicals; the set came through the wash just fine. I put it on the duvet and the pillows just before bedtime, so it was dark when my husband came to bed. His reaction to the feel of the duvet was totally positive. He liked the fluffiness of the top and the softness of the bottom of the duvet and the top of the pillow covers. I like it all as well. It gives the duvet a "weighted blanket" quality. If this duvet cover set was offered in a different color (red with snowflakes) I would get a second set in a heartbeat. It's worth the money and I would recommend it to my friends. ... show more

This is super comfortable and affordable but it has the worst zipper i've ever seen. It's really hard to use and broken the first time I tried to unzip it. I'm going to keep it because I'm cold but it's a budget pick.

There were sturdy ties a the corners and top and a zippered closure that is nearly undetectable.
