This item may look like it won't hold you up but it is made so well you shouldn't worry. The non slip handles are smooth and soft, comfortable fit for any hand, I wear an XL in glove size. Top and side grab bars are adjustable and they give you quite a few choices. There is a side pouch which is an added bonus, nice size for cell phone, pens,note books. The bars that go under mattress are thick and sturdy. I didn't need the belt that also goes under the mattresses for added security. I wish I had known about this when I had a broken arm. When you only have the use of one arm this bedrail is definitely needed for helping to get out of bed. Mine is between mattress and box spring on queen bed without the use of the strap and sturdy as can be. The little pouch is great to keep things in you use most ... show more

My daughter had hip replacement surgery and we needed a bed rail to have along the area of her incision so that her two cats couldn't jump up on her in that spot. It worked perfectly. She put a long pillow between her and the rail and it kept her safe from the cats jumping up on her. This was great.

Very easy to install on my mom’s traditional double bed (mattress and box spring on a frame). Used the adjustable safety strap, and there was plenty of length to wrap it a few times around both the bed rail and the bed frame on the far side. It seems to be very secure, and is giving Mom the help she needs to get in and out of bed. Can’t see any reason to spend more! ... show more
