This is a really beautiful Starfish (Seastar) pendant! My kids like for me to have something in my stocking every year so this was a nice little gift from them. :) I wasn't expecting much, given the price, but it really has exceeded my expectations! It comes beautifully packaged in a robin's egg blue box with a white ribbon. The pendant itself isn't huge - it measures just under 1 1/4 inches from the top to its longest "limb." I am very happy with the size, it is big enough to be noticed but still classy and small enough that you could get away with wearing this in pretty much any setting. The blue opal inlay is very well-done and really adds so much color and beauty to this pendant! It also catches the light really well. It is smooth with no rough edges and both the pendant and the chain are stamped "925" indicating that they are both indeed sterling silver. The chain is just simple but I haven't had any problems with it so far. The hole in the pendant for the chain to go through is about 1/4" x 1/8" so there is plenty of room if you wanted to switch it out for a thicker chain. I really love my new necklace. I live in bitter cold Ohio but have dreams of living closer to the beach so wearing it brings back warm, happy thoughts of the sand and surf and makes braving the snow and ice just a little more bearable! :) I purchased this necklace during one of Amazon's Lightning Deals during the holiday season but it wasn't much less than the current sale price. I got this as a gift for my mom for Christmas. She hasn't seen it yet, but she'll love it. The blue opal colors are beautiful (true to the photo), and the sterling silver is legit. It's a very well made pendant with nice details and should last a long time. The only con is the chain. While it is sterling silver too, I am disappointed that it is so thin and short. I'm not sure why every nice pendant necklace I find is only 18", but I wish that weren't the case. Too short!! The chain is nice, but doesn't feel durable. Maybe it will hold up, maybe it won't. I'll update the listing if it actually breaks. I'm still giving this 5 stars despite the chain, because I bought it for the pendant, not the chain. All in all this makes a great gift and comes in an adorable gift box. ... show more

I loved this beautiful little necklace when I first purchased it as a gift so much that I just had to buy one for myself! It came packaged in an attractive gift box with a white ribbon and bow. The chain is very fine and the spring ring clasp is small. I found it much easier to open and close by pulling it around to the front to do so. The 18-inch chain is a very nice length and it is .925 Sterling Silver, meaning it is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper which is a good combo for durability while keeping the silver sparkly. The necklace is durable enough that I've slept in it many times without any problem. The opal palm fronds are a lovely blue and turquoise color and the trunk of cubic zirconia gives it a nice additional sparkle. This is one of my favorite necklaces and I've been wearing it daily since I got it! ... show more

This necklace is intended as a gift for a teenage girl. It is very beautiful in person. I was initially concerned when ordering because of the reviews of the chain itself and was skeptical of the quality for the price. When I received the package and opened it I was pleasantly surprised. The starfish is small in size so not very overwhelming. It was exactly what I was looking for (not gaudy). The coloring of the opal is amazing. The girl it is for is from Brazil and loves the beach and the colors are very similar to the beautiful colors of the Caribbean she loves to visit. I knocked a star off because the chain does seem a little on the cheap side and probably would not last long with consistent use. She will likely add this charm to a necklace she already wears so it is not an actual problem for me. The packaging it comes in is very similar to a very high end blue box with white bow every girl dreams of getting, but it is again, a little cheaper in quality (I can see where the box was glued together very easily). My husband ordered me this necklace for christmas. I had looked at it before but the pucture does not do it justice. I love it!. This necklace is a beautiful, well crafted, unusual piece of jewelry that I liked so much I went back and ordered the matching earrings! The colors are bright blue and green and really sparkles in the sun. The opal is simulated but is just as if not more beautiful than the real ones I have and a whole lot more affordable. I can wear it with jeans, business ordress attire. It was a little larger than I anticipated but its not to big. It comes on an 18" chain. It is beautiful and well made. However, I wish I could get it and some of the other similar pendants I've seen (palm trees, etc.) as charms that I could put on a charm bracelet and not have to get a chain necklace and big bale with each one. (Although the large bale makes the pendant prettier as a singular pendant on a necklace.) I would like more purchasing options. I will probably eventually put it on a charm bracelet since I tend to wear larger jewelry and this is kind of small for me, as a singular pendant hanging around my neck. Ok so this got A lot of positive reviews. So most seem to be very pleased with the pendant. A lot of people seem to be displeased with the chain so I was quite prepared to change that- simple fix. But as it turns out the chain is a perfect length for me . The pendant is exactly as pictured and The pendant is exactly as pictured. It's beautiful! Perhaps my neck is a little smaller than most but if you don't like the chain, replace it because the pendant is worth purchasing !! I also read a lot of comments where this was a lot smaller than anticipated but it's not meant to be a Big medallion on your neck!! The packaging, craftsmanship and gift-ability of this necklace is fantastic. Although the description does provide measurements of the pendant, I am disappointed with how small it is. The photo of the pendant in the description makes it look much thicker and much larger. More of a “bold” statement. I do like it and I am going to keep it because we are leaving for vacation in one week, I just wish that the pendant was bigger and wider.
