I haven't tried this on anything cold as I bought it as a traveling coffee mug. People are saying about 4 hours plus keeping their coffee hot. I did not find that. After 2 hours it was still hot enough to drink but I would not call it hot at all. That being said I really like the cup and the fact that the lid has an easy slide open closure. It's a nice looking unit and I'm more or less happy with it. Would I buy this again , na I think I would try another one just to see if it does better. Was this one worth the money I think so. EDIT . I just took the temperature of my coffee when you first pour it. It is very low. Only a hundred and 30 degrees. I probably should have done this first before I wrote my review as it changes what I feel. This cup only lost 12 degrees in 2 hours and 12 minutes that's really not that bad at all. And I now changed my mind I would definitely buy another one of these. Sorry for the confusion but I want you to know the facts. I did a little experiment. I filled the cup three-quarters of the way with crushed ice and let it sit. After 36 hours it's still had a ball of ice in the cup. That's pretty impressive ... show more

I was looking for a new travel mug for my daily commute. I currently use the Tiger MMY-A048 WP Vacuum Insulated Stainless Travel Mug. I was considering the Yeti and in my search came across the Beast. It was less expensive and based on reviews just as good. The Beast keeps the coffee luke warm for a few hours. The Tiger keeps my coffee piping hot for at least 4-5 hours. To clean the Beast lid I need a something like the bottom of a fork to get leverage to pop the latch to clean it. The liquid and condensation gets trapped (see photo), which isn't a huge deal, but it needs to be cleaned. One of the things that I liked about the Beast is that it came with straws. When the straws are in, the cup leaks, but that is to be expected because there is an opening. However, I am now discovering, after using this cup for a few weeks, that even when completely closed (no straws), it leaks. I have a long and bumpy commute, but the Tiger does not leak (except when overfilled and comes out the sides when trying to close it). The Aquamarine color of the Beast is nice. I don't know if I received a bum product, but two things are not right with this product: 1. When filling with a hot beverage (coffee, tea), the top slides/pops up. I slid back the drink hole protector and then put the lid on ... so as to let the air escape ... then slid the protector back in place and that's when the lid starts sliding upwards. 2. The "straight" steel straw does not fit in the lid drink hole. I will be returning this item as it does not meet my needs. PROS: - Quality build - Nice accessories (two steel straws and one cleaning brush for the straws) CONS: - Lid slides/pops up when filled with a hot beverage - The straight straw does not fit in the lid drink hole. SUMMARY: This is decent for cold drinks with the angled steel straw. Other than that, it is useless for any hot beverage or the need to use the straight steel straw. Disappointed. I’ve been using this cup for 6 months and I absolutely love it. It gets used daily and it still looks great. I’ve dropped it a couple of times as well without any damage to the cup. I love that it comes with two straws and a cleaning brush for them. I don’t like ice and only use water from the fridge and it still stays cold for hours. Occasionally I put coffee or tea in it and it stays hot for a long time. Once the cup is half empty the drink does get cooler faster. I’ve seen some people’s concerns about not being able to clean the lid properly and mold accumulating under it. It is actually easy to clean and I’ll include pictures. Make sure the sliding closure is closed and then flip the lid upside down. Push on the sliding piece through the little hole that you drink out of and it pops right out. Now you can wash it and then put the sliding piece back in the closed position and push down and it snaps right back in. I definitely recommend this cup to anyone who wants a good quality metal cup that keeps drinks hot and cold. ... show more

After a long night she woke up in the morning.. grabbed her cup and spit it out dramatically.. why? Because she forgot there was a mixed drink in it lmaooo.. (a cold mixed drink) so now I’m back on here again to get two more smh lol.. we decided we need to get a different color for “drinks” just in case lol. Case in point.. Get it.     • Dangerous with hot liquids!

Don't use this cup for hot liquids. If you close the lid to keep it from spilling and you jostle or tilt the cup, the lid flies off and your hot drink sloshes out. Just got burnt with my first use of this cup. Very sad and quite dangerous. Edit on Dec 11: i bought this cup on Amazon prime day - inadvertently bought 2, actually and the hubs chucked the packaging before the first use. What a waste of over 50$. They haven't ceased having this problem - def a design flaw. I don't use for any beverage over 165°F. They've become relegated to the barn and shop - if i run over it with the tractor, oh well. Never heard a peep from the maker or seller about this cup. I've gone back to hydroflask. Better product with much better customer support. ... show more
