    • Great ankle support and wide footbed.
Almost two years ago I suffered a pretty severe ankle break and dislocation. After surgery and several months of physical therapy I realized my old shoes no longer fit. This bummed me out because I'd just purchased a pair of nice hiking boots to wear while Jeeping. My injured ankle/foot just wouldn't go in them. Turns out my foot had changed size in the process. Between the lingering swelling and whatever happened to my foot in the process, I went from a 8.5-9 to a 9.5-10. I saw these Bearpaw hikers and decided to give them a try since they were a wide width and looked like they were high enough to avoid rubbing the surgical scar while supporting my ankle. They just arrived today and I wore them the past couple hours to get my foot accustomed to them and see how well they fit. So far I'm happy! The foot is wide enough that my bad foot slid right in with no effort. I was able to tighten it around my ankle enough to "hug" without it poking or being annoying. The boots feel like they're very well made. The Bearpaw brand was familiar to me as I'd bought another pair of boots from this brand in the past and really liked them. The insoles aren't really "cushy" but supportive enough and there's plenty of room to add an insole if required. If I had to give one minor complaint, it would be that the color wasn't quite the same on the actual boot compared to the photo. I got the grey with purple accents. They're nice looking colors together but the odd part is the purple on the sole is more of a pink color than a purple. But it's a minor thing since the bottoms aren't going to be visible when wearing. Side note: I purchased a pair that were listed as "Used - Like New". They came with the original box and tags attached. It looked like someone maybe got them, tried one on and then returned them as one boot had the inner paper removed and was laced all the way, but the other one still had the paper intact. ... show more

I love my new boots. They were unbelievably inexpensive, but are sturdy, support my ankles well, and are fashionable. I read the reviews prior to purchasing and ordered 1 full size up (since reviews said they run small). They fit great!!!!

They are nice boots and the transaction went well, but they were too small. I have these boots in another color and in the same size (5) and they fit well, but this pair was smaller. I decided to give them to my granddaughter and ordered myself another pair one size bigger. I really like them and that is why I bought another pair. The price is great. ... show more

I am a women's size 12. These felt atleast a whole size smaller. I have a pair of winter boots from them and they're fine. Maybe these were mislabeled. They're lightweight and look well constructed. Returned.

I read reviews that they run smaller so I bought a number higher and fits perfect. The colors, texture and materials are very high quality material, very soft and wide cushion in the inside ( which make the size go smaller) that bring a stronger protection to your feet.

First the shipping. Is it me or is Amazon sucking more and wanting more money to do so?!? Ridiculous! Ordered them so they would arrive before the snow. They arrived late had to walk in 6” of snow to mailbox in sneakers! Since your company couldn’t get them here when promised! Horrible! Now the shoe itself. Stiff, very stiff, it’s going to take a lot to break these babies in. They do run a full size small. So size up. But the worst is traction or the lack there of. They are warm and on dry land I’m sure they work fine but in slick surfaces, like hiking on snow & ICE, no. Just no. I ended up hitting my tailbone on a sharp rock.     • Sturdy and comfortable
I needed some new waterproof bad weather boots. This boot is both sturdy and comfortable to wear. I was so disappointed when one of the top metal shoelace hooks broke off weeks later. I was going to return this item, but someone suggested a shoe repair shop have a look. It took the repair person 10 minutes to replace the broken hook for $5 with a more durable replacement. hurrah, now I can keep the boots now. ... show more
