I chose this shredded memory foam bean bag filler from OLASIR to use for filling throw pillow covers. In my opinion, enough Dacron to fill 4-6 pillows ( depending on the size ) would cost over double the current $26 price of this shredded foam at the time of this review. I weighed the bag for verification. The contents, the bag and the shrink wrap, weighed 6 lbs 2 ounces. This foam arrived from the manufacturer vacuum sealed. When the foam is vacuum sealed, the size compares to two womens’ tennis shoe boxes. The foam grows to about 2 ½ times the original size after the vacuum is released and the foam is allowed to sit for a couple of hours. When stuffing throw pillows I recycle 1” thick sheet foam that protects items that are routinely shipped to me ( the foam compares to a thin mattress topper ). I use this inside the front surface of the pillow to keep it from looking lumpy depending on the thickness and type of fabric of the throw pillow cover. For some pillows I use a layer front and back if the pillow is likely to be flipped. This foam was more finely shredded and spongier compared to other shredded foam I have used in the past. It is likely that I could have skipped the sheet foam layer based on the type of upholstery fabric used to make the pillows covers I stuffed. I have added a photo of the pillows after stuffing for reference. The bag was still about 75% full after stuffing these 12”x18” lumbar pillows. I think this shredded memory foam is a good value for my needs. Using this type of stuffing may not be ideal for everyone’s needs. If the pillow covers were made of t-shirt fabric or regular pillow cast fabric, the lumps would show - making the foam layer a necessity in my opinion. - if someone don't have access to free thin sheets of foam to make the pillow look smooth, in my opinion, the small shreds might be visible from the outside. I hope my thoughts, photos and details help someone.

I have entirely too many throw pillows to use, even if I had 5 times the furniture to throw them onto than I actually have, but I like throw pillows. It’s more convenient to have pillow inserts than loose filler but I have so many pillows that the cost of pillow inserts gets to be more than I'm especially delighted to spend. Using filler saves me enough money to make it worth the pain of stuffing pillows with it. With all those pillows, I needed this filler as soon as it arrived, and I used it right away. I was able to fill 7 pillows with this which caught me up to only a couple still not filled.

We had a beanbag chair that had lost all of its fluff. There was basically nothing left to it as you can see from my pictures. I used about half of the bag of stuffing to restock the beanbag chair and our beanbag chair is restored!!!! I also included a picture of the different types of foam. The blue foam is from this product, the itty-bitty white balls are the original from the beanbag chair, and the white cubes are from a body pillow that we took some of the stuffing out of. There’s definitely a variety of stuffing materials to choose from. This material did a great job, re-stuffing our beanbag chair. We will see how long the new stuffing lasts and if it holds up for years to come. I will come back and update this post if we have any issues. The bag would probably be more than enough to fill an entire beanbag chair of this size. We didn’t have to use it all because there was still some stuff in there, but I also still have a half bag of the stuffing left.

I used this shredded memory foam to re-fluff one of my dog’s beds that had gone pretty flat over time, and it worked out really well. I was honestly surprised by how much foam was packed into the bag. Once opened and allowed to expand, there was plenty of filler to restore the bed and make it look and feel much fuller again. The foam pieces were soft and springy, giving the bed better support without making it feel overly firm. My dog seemed to settle right into it and has been using the bed regularly since I refilled it. One thing to keep in mind is that opening and working with shredded foam can be a little messy, so it’s best to do it in an area that’s easy to clean up. Other than that, I had no issues. Overall, I was very satisfied with both the quality of the foam and the amount included in the package. It did exactly what I needed it to do and brought new life to an old dog bed. I’d definitely order it again if I need more filling in the future. I’m not entirely sure about how pricing works with something like this and mind you I did get this through the vine program, but based on looking at some similar products, I do believe that the price that this company is charging is extremely reasonable for the quality and amount of material you’re receiving
