The lanterns look nice. However the plastic door that you open to insert batteries has 1 very small screw holding it closed. That screw does not unscrew. Thus in order to access the battery compartment we had to cut through the thick plastic. Poor design!! No quality control here! Unless you enjoy an exercise in frustration I do not recommend purchasing these lanterns. ... show more

Ease of Setup and Use There’s nothing complicated here—it came fully assembled, and all I had to do was pop in a few AAA batteries for the LED candle. It was ready to go in minutes. Because it’s lightweight and has no glass, I didn’t hesitate to hang it near the entryway or move it from the mantel to the table. It’s really user-friendly. Performance Compared to Expectations The flickering LED candle gave off a warm, cozy glow that instantly made the room feel more seasonal. I expected it to look nice in the daytime, but it surprised me how charming and cozy it looked in the evening once the candle was lit. It didn’t feel cheap or overly artificial, which I was cautious about when ordering. Durability and Build Quality The lantern feels sturdy even though it’s lightweight. The frame has that classic metal look but isn’t heavy, and it held up well on a windy porch without tipping over. Not having glass panels is actually a plus—it’s one less thing to worry about, especially with kids or pets bumping into things. Specific Features The arrangement of pumpkins, leaves, and berries is well thought-out. It doesn’t look cluttered or overly fake. There’s a nice balance in the colors, and the details on the maple leaves give it a more lifelike touch than I expected. The LED candle being flameless is another bonus—safe and stress-free. Extras About the Product Its size makes it versatile. I used it on a tabletop at first, then moved it to a shelf, and finally hung it on a hook outside. It looked great in each spot. Love-hate relationship with these lanterns. Love: how nice and stylish they look. The attentive to atheistic details such as the flickering candle flame and the high quality, removable autumn decor on top. These lanterns will look great on my hearth or on my porch. I will be happy to display them. Hate: ridiculous, frustrating, and terribly designed battery compartment. It required two people to open it because you had to apply opposing pressure to the lantern base and candle to get the screw to turn. Also, the screwdriver that was supplied was too small! Ugh. We had to use our own. And then because the screw was jammed in so tight, we ended up almost stripping the screw before we got it out. Something that should be so easy (opening a battery compartment to install the batteries) ended up being so frustrating for my husband and I. Just a terrible, cheap design that involved a tiny screw in a super awkward placement and the wrong included screwdriver! Cheap, dumb design.
