  • Great product
Once i figured out which studs to replace the manifold went in super smooth. With two people it is easier if you leave the turbo in place. The sound is a little quieter and performance seems better. Great quality part.

  • Best Stock Replacement for ‘16 Ram Cummins
Excellent Replacement for stock 2016 Ram with Cummins 6.7. No more high pitched squeal. Noticeable power increase during acceleration. When you compare the stock manifold to the new BD manifold, you can see a big difference where the manifold bolts to the turbo - much improved flow. I purchased new Mopar OEM hardware and was able to retain my factory heat shields. I bought the BD gasket kit which was expensive only to find they just repackaged Mahle gaskets. Just buy Mahle gaskets and save yourself some money. ... show more

  • Putting two pieces together and needs a shorted bolt
1) Great product but needs to have more detailed instructions on putting two pieces together and I think it’s crazy they don’t send you the correct bolt that needs to be used on the bottom because the Norman bolts replacement is for the stock manifold. Bolts don’t need to be that long because you can eliminate the spacers. I would go down to Napa auto parts and get replacements there honestly. 2) Had to put one end in oven at 350 for at least a couple hours and the other end in the freezer for the same amount of time to connect them. Make sure you have two people to help not a one man job. Total time to do project 4-5 hours. ... show more

  • READ BEFORE INSTALLING
This is a great manifold that far surpasses the stock manifold in quality. It's solid, the machined tolerances are incredible, and it seals to the block much better than the stock. However, it is very important to note that you MUST install the two provided studs into the lower bolt holes on the 4th and 5th cylinder instead of reusing the stock bolts. The new manifold has a widened turbo flange, which is good for thermal performance, but it means that there's no clearance for bolts on these cylinders. Even with the studs, there is only room to fit a box end wrench in the space to tighten the nuts on these cylinders. The instructions from BD Diesel, forebodingly, say "it will be quite a challenge, but can be done". Don't be like me; otherwise you'll end up having to pull the entire thing back off due to forgetting to install the studs. The job, total, took me over six hours. It could likely have been done in four hours, since I made a few mistakes, and am a driveway mechanic without a fancy shop. TIPS: - U-joint deep sockets or a u-joint adapter and deep sockets are mandatory for this job, as is at least an 18" ratchet extension. You will not be able to remove the block bolts without these. - You do not need to remove the turbocharger from the truck in order to install the manifold. - The best way to access the turbo is to remove the inner fender liner and access the turbocharger from the wheel well. - The turbo flange nuts will be seized. Get a blowtorch and heat the nuts on the turbocharger flange, then use a box end wrench to remove them, and they'll come off pretty easily. - The instructions tell you to use the 30mm studs for the block, and the 25mm studs for the EGR block off plates. Ignore this and use two of the 25mm studs on the fourth and fifth cylinder lower bolt holes. It will allow you to slip the manifold onto the turbo flange, past the block studs, and then push the entire assembly onto the block studs. Every possible bit of clearance helps here. - Don't attempt this without someone to help. The manifold is heavy and it really helps to have someone on the bottom to help guide it into position. - You'll have to push the turbo towards the passenger side of the car, and it's easiest to do this using a cheater bar or lever from the bottom of the truck. Get the lever between the engine block and turbo housing and gently apply enough pressure to move the turbo enough to get the manifold over the block studs. - The first cylinder's bottom bolt is blocked by the coolant downpipe. You do not need to remove this pipe. Instead, use a u-joint deep socket, and you'll have just enough clearance. - I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but I have seen people notch out the fourth and fifth bottom flange holes so that it's possible to simply slip the manifold onto the studs from the top. Use your judgement, but there is a decent bit of material here, and this would greatly simplify the installation. ... show more

  • Best exhaust upgrade
Went the cheaper route and ordered these online to install myself. Job took about 5 hours out in my driveway. End result. NO more exhaust leak and probably no more future leak! Bonus, truck sounds great. Boost takes a little longer to build but it delivers it nicely.

  • Check box before you start removing your manifold!
Received an old OEM manifold! Obviously someone painted it and stuck it in the box and returned it!

  • Awesome upgrade
So the good part 1st. It lines up perfect with 6.7 block and the supplied studs are great. I haven't had it out much but so far love it. I have no complaints with the part so far. It's very well built. Much thicker than oem. So for the bad, which isn't horrible. Because it's thicker and redesigned, it doesn't go on as easy as oem comes off. You have to drop the turbo. It's not a simple plug and play. I'm still giving 5 stars cause it's a great part just takes some extra work. ... show more
