I work on ranches for a living and invariably, I find myself popping the hood a lot to run my chainsaw sharpener off of the batts under the hood when we're cutting. I bought one of these and installed it on the front bumper so that I can just clip my chainsaw sharpener on it to run it without opening the hood. Works great! Works so great infact I bought a 2nd one and am putting it on my back bumper this weekend. Very very handy to have.

Installed battery jump post kit on my sailboat to facilitate checking battery charge level and to connect batter booster should there be a need. I use an electrical tester with probes for checking battery level before leaving dock and there is enough metal exposed around caps to make contact with probes without removing caps. That actually works for me because caps are really the weak point on jump post kit. Caps are rather dinky and don't remain attached. Easy for them to get lost. That might be a concern if mounted in an area exposed to weather. Caps are not water proof (product description does not claim to be either). The rest of the jump kit is robust and well made though and will be perfect for the intended job. I'm very happy with the product. Price was reasonable and it works for my use. The 4 stars on Sturdiness was only due to caps.
