I don’t know about the absorbency I have not tried them yet. But they are both very soft. It does seem to be woven quite a bit tighter than some of the cheaper ones. However definitely shorter pile. It does have some serious grip on the bottom for non-slip. Not sure if it will always be as good after washing. But they do look nice

These mats look really nice and wash well. We have one bathroom for two adults, three kids, and a baby, so it's important that they stand up to frequent washing. I machine wash and line dry with the occasional short fluff in the dryer. They are soft, but you can also feel the hard foundation of the rug under the fluffy texture even when fresh out of the package, which I find off-putting but not a total deal breaker. But overall, the best mats for my bathroom I've tried.

I have a dog that dislikes the lack of traction on our wood floors in most of the house. Got these to put in the path from the carpeted part of the house to the big rug in the kitchen and it works great! He instantly used it seemed so much happier to move around. And he slept on it too so it’s definitely dog approved. Very soft, slips around a little but nothing crazy which is expected.
