This was a gift for my daughter. Each bath bomb is wrapped in attractive paper that is easy to tear away, and then when it dissolves, the bath bomb has a plastic cube in it with an LED bulb that is powered by a battery, with a circuit that is completed when exposed to the water. The cubes all worked and lit for varying lengths of time. Out of the six in the box, one cube worked for one bath and then died because the plastic cube had a leak in it, so water maintained the connection and the battery could not shut off. Another cube, once it dried, worked for a couple more baths because it shut off its led bulb when the connection was lost, and resumed when wet again. The fragrances were delightful—strong enough to last, but not overpowering—and the colors pleasing. The LED bulbs don’t have the power to light all the bath water—they just light up the spot they’re floating in, but it is a nice effect, especially in lower light. The bath bombs unfortunately don’t float or spin. (I used to make bath bombs, along with other all-natural soaps and lotions, for a living, and higher quality bath bombs do both float and spin as they dissolve; it takes a little extra expense and time to make them this way, so if your bath bomb is expensive, you can and should expect it). The box comes with a small, plastic cutter with a sharp point, to open bath bombs with—families with small children may want to be sure they find that before the young ones do, and keep it out of reach. However, we kept it—it turns out that plastic cutter is the perfect tool for opening the shrink wrap cellophane that many brands of store bought bath bombs come in. No more peeling away a dozen tiny chips of shrink wrap at a time with arthritic hands, and crumbling the bath bomb from messing with it so long. Even though they don’t float and spin, but cost enough that they should, I’m glad I bought them, and would do so again. ... show more

The scent for these bath bombs is very light. I personally prefer a more noticeable aroma, but if you like it on the lighter side, you would enjoy this set. The aroma doesn't linger on your skin after the bath. There is not much "bath art", but the water dies turn a noticeable pretty color. I'm approaching 60, but am still a kid at heart when it comes to anything that lights up, so that is the best part for me. The light cubes are fun. I've only used 2 bombs so fR, but the lights seem to be coordinated with the color of the bath bombs. I the presentation is nice, in a giftable box, and I believe it to be a good value. ... show more

We had so much fun using these bath bombs. The scents were strong but appealing and the bath bomb dissolves and foams in a very soothing and fun way. Until the water hits the light cube it will not light up. All of a sudden the light pops on and you have a glowing bath. The kids loved it and stayed in their baths for an extra long time. Don't use these if you're in a rush. We kept the light cubes from the first two that we used and they still work if wet, or of you push down on the metal prongs. We're always looking for fun new bath bombs and these definitely top the list. My only critique is that the bath bombs are wrapped in both plastic and tissue. I feel that the tissue is wasteful and doesn't add anything to the product. Something for the company to consider, but definitely a worthwhile product. ... show more

The scents in these are great but the lights inside of them, have leaking problems and usually won't shut off, so they die by the next evening. Just to be clear, the batteries don't leak, the water leaks into the cube which keeps it on all the time. These are incredible. I ordered a box and after using 2 - I ordered 2 more boxes. For those with allergies (like me) the scents are not overwhelming. They work as described. These are a super fun suprise for my 2.5 yr old! I almost thought i had gotten the wrong ones because nothing on the packaging indicated that they light up, BUT that's what makes them a great suprise gift! When the light cube starts to show it won't light up until almost all of the bath bomb is off of it so don't be alarmed if it isn't glowing as soon as you start to see the cube.
