This is a great idea. There are things I like about this portable batting cage: 1) the poles for the structure are permanently attached together via elastic and chains that allow them to be partially disassembled and folded for storage or travel. 2) The net is of very good quality. 3) The iron stakes that hold the ropes are of very good quality. The negatives, however are as follows: 1) You have to thread the long poles through the sleeves of the net, and the pole gets hung up so it requires two people just to thread the poles. 2) After threading the poles, you have to bend the assembled pole while it's in the net to create the shape of the structure. 3) Eight silver colored yard staples are included to hold the net down, but they are not strong enough to secure the structure in place. They are smooth and slide right back out of the ground. 4) You have to attach the stakes with the provided rope from the top of the structure down to the stakes from opposite ends and two in the middle. They have to be positioned to not only hold the structure down but to create the shape of the structure. 5) There should have been, at the very least, one pole that runs along the top of the structure the length of the batting cage to create the spacing between the hoops. Because the way it is, they flop around and the net sags. 6) The poles are lacking in structural integrity and can be easily deformed. There should have been more pieces to the structure to create a stable shape. This is a good idea, but not well executed. ... show more

The distance covered by this batting cage is about 25ft. So it’s good for youth batter practice but not for a full length, real machine. Setup is super easy. Took me and my son about 30min start to finish to put this up. If you’ve ever put up a tent - the concept is the same. You insert poles in sleeves and then lock them into place The net is sturdy. We used a heater pitching machine and hit with it. It worked perfectly to contain the balls. It’s not small enough to stop mini wiffle balls but seems strong enough to stop real baseballs/softballs hit into it over and over. There is a hole for a pitching machine in one end and the other end can be removed if needed. Or left in place for batters to walk into a fully enclosed space. ... show more
