  • Great Scope - Great Price - Functions as Described
Size: 6-24x44mm Color: Black
Got this scope to mount on an AR-10. Mounted perfectly. Well built, glass is very clear at all magnifications, All adjustments work as expected and exceeded my expectations. Tried the scope for magnification at various ranges. Performed perfectly out to a (known) distance of 1250 yards. Absolute clarity, as long as you know how to focus the eyepiece before you begin and know how to adjust the parallax, you should have no issues. Range report to come as we are in a period of rain for the next several days. Will update with status on recoil and zero hold and adjustments then. Will be sending around 200 rounds of .308 downrange at between 100 and 300 yards. Stay tuned for a real experience update. I personally believe the scope is going to perform like a champ, but we will wait and see. So far so good. UPDATE: As promised, range report: 100 yds, 70 rounds of 308..kept zero (zeroed in at 200yds), under .5 inch groupings (5 shot); 200yds, 100 rounds of 308..kept zero, group sizes just at .5 inches (again 5 shot groupings); 300yds, 50 rounds, easy range adjustment, kept zero, group sizes again at .5 inches (5 shot groups); 400 yds, 50 rounds of 308, again easy range adjustment, kept zero, group sizes just over .75 inches (again 5 shot groups)….Returned to 100 yd target returned settings to original 200yd zero and proceeded to fire 30 rounds of 308, again groupings under .5 inch (5 shot groups), scope kept zero. All in all a very good scope, clear optics, and if you are familiar with the adjustments and can remember a few numbers (your starting point as it does not have return to zero - not a biggie), this is a great scope for the money and DOES handle the recoil of a 308 very well as my little range test was 300 rounds and varied from 100, 200, 300, 400 and back to 100 yards . A really decent scope, actually outperforms the Nikon Monarch on my wife's rifle (even on he own opinion as well). ... show more

  • Barska Ridgeline 6-24x44
Size: 6-24x44mm Color: Black
this is a high end reticle for cheap. if you can find a reticle like this on anything else that will handle the recoil of a .308 for under 200 bucks you're doing well. if you check out the Barska website you'll see they have this in four different magnifications. the shorter mags have a light-up reticle... why they didnt put it on the 6-24 i have no idea! that's why it only gets a four star. If i could talk them into light-up reticle on the 6-24 with the gritted vertical, windage, and parallax adjustment (like on their swat sniper scope) i would....(reserving copyrights of course!) you hear that BARSKA! ... show more

  • Buyer Beware
Size: 4-16x44mm Color: Black
I bought a Ridgeline for my M1A, based on my early experience with Barska "Huntermaster" scopes purchased for my .22's and a 30-30. To date, I have purchased two of these Ridgelines, and 12 Huntmaster's. Huntmaster line is aupposed to be rated for center fire rifles, most of mine are (or were) mounted on .22's. The Huntmaster costs about 1/3 of this ridgeline. Initially I was very pleased with all of the scopes, and the apparent quality for an inexpensive cost, with a lifetime 'warranty'. But over the past 18 months 5 of the Huntmasters have failed, either failing to hold zero, fogging, or both. I live in Florida, and am older, so if I want to be accurate beyond 25 yds, my old eyes need Optical assistance. Also, my shooting activities now are pretty much at the target range. Which I visit 2x-3x per month. Now, I am having a similar issue with the Ridgeline on my M1A. This rifle has only been to the range 4x since I acquired it in June of 2018. I have fired perhaps 400 rds to date. Yesterday I found the scope has suffered water intrusion in the form of several very annoying water droplets in, or very close to the center of the reticle. When my 1st "Huntmaster" failed at about 3 months, I investigated the 'lifetime warrranty' by visiting Barska's website. They offer a 21 day free product return/replacement; after which, the "warranty" service consists of you sending the scope to Barska at your own shipping cost (Ok, pretty normal) - PLUS paying a non-refundable evaluation fee, and return shipping. REALLY ??? so for a $40 huntmaster I would be spending nearly $40 for a 'warranty' repair/replacement. In short, the initial quality of all of my Barska rifle scopes seemed a good bargain. Now, I know better as I have wasted my $$ on garbage. For what it's worth, I have replaced all of my 'Huntmasters" now with PINTY scopes. From experience with PINTY, the importer really does stand by the product (I had ONE issue, and they replaced the scope for free - no questions asked) Bottom line: I will live with my one still good Ridgeline for as long as it lasts. For the malfunctioning "Ridgeline", I am considering just giving it the toss and replacing it with this Pinty, which is the one I have replaced all of my bad barska scopes with and am extremely satisfied: https://www.amazon.com/Pinty-4-16X40-Illuminated-Flip-Open-Sunshade/dp/B01LXZCD4I?ref_=ast_sto_dp ... show more

  • Great scope for the price
Size: 4-16x44mm Color: Black
I originally bought this scope for use on a 6mm Rem mag rifle with a 26" heavy profile barrel and after zeroing in which was a breeze I was shooting sub-MOA all day long ( 5 shot groups). I then purchased a 3-12x44mm Ridgeline for use on my Savage A22 22Mag rifle in which it allowed me to easily hit lemon sized targets at 150 yds all day long. I'm about to purchase a 2nd 4-16x44mm to use on my new Savage .25-06. Glass is crystal clear and sharp, very easy to zero in and never had any issues at all with either model, so far. THANKS to Amazon for having THE very best price online.!! ... show more

  • OK scope w/out zeros realignment! Very strange!
Size: 6-24x44mm Color: Black
For now I give it a 3 and 1/2 stars; looks and feels right through this scope. Barska's glass is pretty good; if adjusted correctly, able to see .223 bullets holes fairly clear @ 200 yds.The reticle is a bit thin, looks real nice, but the turrets are confusing w/ the lines and numbers. Also, you can't tell what revolution your turrets are on; no particular lines underneath the bottom of the caps (so no way of telling.) May be they sent me one of those crazy turrets. One big draw back, this scope is not designed so you can remove the caps and realign to the new zeros. I can't imagine why. Actually, you can, but it will not hold tight in place (will slide off.) For this price, there are certainly better choices out there; the turrets alone are enough troubles and without any instructions in using the elevation and windage; only the picture and explanations of the reticle. Good lucks! ... show more
