This Barrina light is absolutely perfect for giving some love to shorter plants. It provides strong and consistent light to the entire area underneath it and my plants are thriving. I've found that with taller lamp style grow lights the light falls off significantly before it gets down to the floor plants or is at an awkward angle from bending them. This one is the perfect height to concentrate light on the ones that would usually miss out. It doesn't get overly hot even after being on for hours but I wouldn't take it off them metal stand just to be safe. The stability, once constructed is fairly questionable. It does wobble and you have to monkey with the chains to get it to sit at a reasonable height. That brings me to the biggest issue. Good for seedlings? I suppose... but if you are not careful, you will burn them out. This entire light setup is SHORT. I mean... very short. It is entirely useless unless on a grow table for seed trays. Beyond that.... nah. Power output seems less than spec, but I will verify that and get back here and edit when I have that answer. ... show more

This plant stand was really easy to assemble. It doesn't feel very sturdy, if you move it there's a lot of wobble. It is a stand that shouldn't move that often though, so it should be fine. I do like that the height of the light is adjustable. I use this for seeds so it's great that I can raise the light as the seedlings grow. The control is awesome and allows me to adjust the light and set a timer. Overall. I recommend it if you can put it in a low traffic area. ... show more

I wish sellers of LED lighting products would more accurately report their lumen output and wattage usage. The 2 values correlate with each other. This seller states their grow light uses 30 watts with a lumen output of 3000. These numbers are important because a higher output gives better growth with your plants and it is the best way to compare one grow light with another. I have a reliable Kill-o-Watt meter that measures energy consumption of appliances plugged into it. Using this meter, I measured only 19/20 watts of consumption with this grow light which correlates with only about 2000 lumens of light output which is a full 1/3 less than the seller's claimed output!!! If they had rated the lumen/wattage correctly, I would have been willing to rate the product a 5, but given this glaring deficiency, I will only give it a 3. The product is made with aluminum poles and is very easy to set up. It is durable and allows for various modes of hanging with the poles or without. The light has reflectors on the sides and the light output is directed in such a way that properly positioned it gives good light coverage over a 2 foot by 2 foot area. You can easily adjust the lights height to be right over your plants to almost 2 feet above the ground using the stand. This can be adjusted for a greater distance if you have your own greenhouse setup. The light has 3 lighting modes that allow for use of different lights (yellow and pinkish) or all of them combined. Interestingly, the light used only 19 watts with all the lights on and 20 watts when only half were on. The yellow lights are for "germination and leaf growth" and the pink lights for "blooming and fruiting." Combined is used for all growth stages. The light comes with a switch that has a timer allowing continuous use or 4, 9, or 14 hours a day usage. By double tapping the power switch you can switch between the 3 lighting modes. The box has a storage case and all the hanging materials, chain with adjustable hooks, screws for ceiling attachment and zip ties. I have heard some really good things about this light, so I had to try it out. I'm glad I did! This light has a very sturdy stand, which elevates it high enough to be able to start veggies indoors and not have to fiddle with adjusting it too often, or hoping that the plants don't grow too tall before they can be transplanted outside. It's extremely well made. It isn't going to tip over, does not wobble, and it's definitely not going to fall off onto my plants, which I've had happen before with other lights. I've tried lights that clip onto counters and pots, I've tried hanging lights, I've tried a lot of lights, and this one is by far my favorite table top light. It can accommodate a few trays and provide ample lighting, which means I can use this one light instead of the 5 clip on lights I had to use last year. This is a quality product that will last through many, many seasons of plant starts. It's well designed and well built. If you're looking for the perfect table top light that's large enough for a few trays of plants, look no further. This is it. ... show more
