I like to make myself a blueberry cranberry protein smoothie, and I love to add whatever else I can to add to the health benefits. I love adding this in it! Great for heart health, and the amazing berry flavor works perfectly. Also great right out of the bottle as a straight tablespoon. Very fruity with only the barest hint of oil flavor. Shake well before using, and keep refrigerated. It's a great way to keep things healthy and delicious! Enjoy!

When I first tried this flavor I made sure to shake it up real good, and was so surprised by the fishy smell and taste. I had to do a deep investigation online about the ingredients because I was so sure it was from fish or crustaceans. ( I eat a vegan diet ) Turns out it's the seaweed/algae ingredients that gives it that off-putting fishy taste. It is vegan, yes, but I will not buy this flavor again. I do not use it in my smoothies like I did with the other flavors. In the mornings I will take a swig and wash it down as fast as possible. The first smoothie I made with a teaspoon of this, tasted so nasty i could only drink half. I am not a picky person but it felt like torture trying to gulp it down.

I use this product for the Omega 3 & 6 it packs, but I sure wish it could be sweetened with a different artificial sweetener. It contains Xylitol, which can be fatal to dogs & cats if ingested. So please be careful when using this product!

The Good: As a vegetarian, it seemed the only way I could get an omega supplement was from dead fish bits, but then I found this supplement and became hooked. The main source of omegas comes from flax seed oils, but you would barely notice from how nicely it tastes. I'm not about to drizzle this on my oatmeal in the morning, but it certainly is one of the tastier supplements I've tried. The mango flavor version is even better in my opinion. I have so much more energy after incorporating this into my daily routine, and I would recommend it to any non-vegetarians who hate the fishier versions. The Bad: This stuff is EXPENSIVE, and it doesn't help that it's hard to find this version outside expensive health stores, but one of these bottles has lasted me as many as 3 months with regular doses, and Amazon is offering it at a more affordable price than most. The taste was awful. I tried straight in a spoon and also mixed with food. Either way it tasted bad. I checked the sell by date which was fine. I have had citrus and lemon Barlean's before and it was tasty. I can't take this again. A total waste of money. I had 3-6-9 with fish oil before and it was fine, but the algae version has a terrible taste! Update: Barleans offered a refund so I am ordering a different version of 3-6-9 with citrus! Its a great product when it tastes good! and I'm sure has helped lower my bad cholesterol levels! I hope they make the algae version with a better taste in the future!
