Background info: I'm a 21YO Asian, with dry/combination skin. My forehead and nose break out and have some scarring, and my cheeks get dry. I like using this product in the summer, when my cheeks are relatively normal and my T-zone gets a bit oily. It provides pretty good coverage (I still need a bit of concealer for my pimples and scars), manages the oil, is easy to use, and doesn't feel heavy at all. I dislike the container. It's supposed to stop product from coming out during travel, but mine still allows some to come out, leaving a mess within the container. It's better than the previous packaging in that less product makes its way past the sifter, but still a bit annoying as my expectations were higher. Another negative is that you lose 1g of product with the new packaging. Same price, less product. Bad move! Some people have complained that they can't get the last bit of product out. I was worried about this, then discovered that the bottom comes out. I'm pretty confident that I will be able to use all the product. Final thoughts: Not sure if this would be good on dry skin. I personally wouldn't use it in the winter. I would repurchase, as this is my go-to foundation for summer. Hope they improve on the packaging in the future and move the product amount back up to 9g, but it is tolerable. Other thoughts: I use this for both foundation and concealer. I use a flat top kabuki brush for foundation, and then use a concealer brush to concentrate the product to cover up blemishes. First of all, I HIGHLY recommend having someone in the store apply this makeup the first time so they get the color right. I was in line to buy this for the first time and a sales rep offered to apply it before I bought it. I hate being nagged by sales people but i let her do it and good thing I did. The two colors I was about to buy were WAY off. I have always tanned easily and I never think my skin is pale, even in the winter. However, she found that LIGHT and FAIRLY light worked best for me. I was about to buy MEDIUM so thank goodness I didn't. I've had problems with acne my whole life but it has gotten much better from my teen years but I still have occasional issues. I feel like this makeup has helped my skin a lot. There is NO WAY I can go makeup free, even when I have clear skin. I have dark circles under my eyes and not an even skin tone. I think this stuff covers just as well as liquid foundation but without feeling like you have a pound of grease on your face. I use the fairly light with a small brush for my concealer and the LIGHT for an overall foundation. Makes my skin look better than ANY liquid foundation I have tried. It's gross to think I used to put that crap on my face. I barley break out now and if I accidently forget to wash my face before I fall asleep I don't feel disgusting when I wake up. Just love it. Will never go back. I think getting to color right is by far the most important so let someone do it for you! ... show more

I have used a lot of makeup in my years....I'm 44 and I've been using makeup since I was 16. This has been the BEST makeup by far I have ever used. First of all, it does not take a lot of this foundation to really work. I love that! I hate looking 'pasted' or 'colored'. I try to get a little sun every year, but do not sun worship anymore, and I use the light foundation, which is a perfect blend for me. You can wear this makeup in the heat (it won't run off), overnight (to lazy to take off makeup and you won't break out over it),it really is an amazing product. I have went back and forth with this, using it for awhile and purchase the 'name brands' in the store, even the "organic and natural" products out there. I keep coming back to Bare Minerals. For the money, it really IS worth the cost and so much better for you to use than any other brand. I will be a lifetime user of Bare Minerals! ... show more

I really like BareMinerals. It covers without looking cake-y and lasts a pretty long time. As far as mineral makeup goes it is the best product I've found and I use it almost every day. It has medium coverage-- but I like that for everyday use. It doesn't take much powder to apply a full face; the larger containers last a long time. I just bought the starter kit for my niece and she loves it. Both my sisters use this products as well. I would recommend BareMinerals to anyone looking for a good powder foundation that's in a reasonable price range and doesn't cause breakouts. The added spf 15 is a great added bonus. ... show more

I do not use any base layers with this. It is so perfect if you are looking for simple and quality makeup. One layer with a brush is all it takes. Feels light on skin and does make your face oily.

I don't know what I would do without Bare Minerals. It is THE best foundation I've ever used, and I wouldn't even think to use anything else now. My daughter in law turned me on to Bare Minerals last Mother's Day. It was a great present, and I've been buying the products ever since. I love it so much, I bought this for the females in my life, for Christmas Presents this year! What's great is that it doesn't look like you are wearing anything at all. It's a foundation that blends with your skin tone. No lines, or any indication whatsoever that you are wearing makeup......just a beautiful finished face! :) Highly recommend! ... show more
