I have thoroughly enjoyed this product on the arm of this chair, specifically. We have a couch with cushier arms that I was hoping it would work well on, but unfortunately, it doesn't sit flat on cushy surfaces. I like how sturdy my coffee cup feels on this chair arm, however. The product seems to be well made. The non-slip surface on the bottom works well, especially for arm rests that are not square like ours. I am sure it is even more stable on square arm rests. With the raised edges, it holds my wife's phone and TV controller well, along with other smaller items. Because of the raised edges, it is necessary to take the tray off while eating to stabilize the dinner plate. Of course, I knew that before ordering. I think I may try applying a thin self-sticking rubber or soft plastic strips on the raised edges. I suspect that would stabilize the dinner plate sufficiently to allow the tray to remain on while eating. Soft clear plastic strips would likely both provide the traction needed and be less noticeable than a darker color. Just an idea. I have been frustrated over the years without a flat surface to use my computer mouse on while sitting in my recliner. I found that without its tray, I can use it as the needed flat surface. This sofa tray fits on the arm and gives you a level surface to put your remotes or a drink and small snack. The only complaint that I have is how small it is. I was expecting a larger surface that could handle a book or a regular sized dish or bowl. It can fit a couple of remotes and a small bowl or plate but not an entire meal or even a normal sized book. However, once you get used to the size limit, it is very handy to have and prevents you from having to balance your drink or have it an arm’s length away. It can be used with a range of sofa arm types and is versatile in how it sits on the arm. The tray/surface itself is removable and can be carried to the kitchen or placed elsewhere. The surface has a lip to avoid items sliding off, and the surface uses to 4 magnets to secure to the stand itself. A handy and advanced feature. The fact that it is bamboo and an attractive light brown color makes the whole unit fit nicely on the sofa and with the room decor. This tray is pretty well made and the wood also looks of good quality. The fact that the sides are flexible and can be put on the arm of the couch is very useful. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it works well on a wide sofa arm, but not so much on a thin arm. Its a bit wobbly when put on a thin sofa arm. Well made, sturdy arm tray table. I like the anti-slip material under the base, it really holds the unit in place. The removable tray is a great idea and so are the magnets that hold the tray in place. The only issue for me, and it's nothing negative against the tray, is my sofa arms are at an angle and when I place a glass or a remote on the tray it will slide to the back. This looks very similar to the picture, just a little lighter. It fits over my couch, but the color is a bit too late to match my couch. Also, the flat panel feels high quality with a nice safety edge, but that magnetic panel comes off a bit too easily for my liking. Slightly stronger magnets would have helped with this! ... show more
