I had a tummy tuck and needed compression wear for my recovery up to 6 months. I have tried the expensive brands, the budget brands and in between. Some are good, there are parts I like and don’t like. But after wearing the Bali shaper, nothing else can live up to it. It is comfortable, enough so that I don’t mind wearing it in 100 degree weather. It is breathable and it moves with you. The underwire bra is perfect after my breast augmentation. I purchased this item in both black and beige about 13 months ago. I have been wearing one-piece shapewear exclusively for decades. I've invested in dozens of styles and ran into many problems which I describe below. But this garment not only sates nearly every desire for me, but it's also ridiculously underpriced compared to other products on the market. That's a good thing, of course. As for fit, I am short waisted and a bit think around the midsection. I have a lot of back fat and not much of a waist. I HATE any kind of bra or panty lines. I''m 5'5" and weigh about 173 (although I weighed as much as 189 when I purchased this item the first time). My normal bra size is between 38DD and 40DD, so I purchased the 40DD. My one and only complaint about the fit is that I wish I could adjust the straps to bring them up just a little bit more. This is probably because I am short waisted. Bringing "the girls" up just 1" higher makes a huge difference in how clothes fit me. Because I paid only $28-$30 per items, and because these items look no worse for wear after dozens of washes, I have no qualms about paying $10 to have my seamstress adjust my straps for me. I am still paying less than I paid for other shapewear that didn't make me nearly as happy. This has, by far, been the best for my purposes. Here's why. The fit is perfect. I have never found a fit this good with shapewear. The bra fits me perfectly and the body is very comfortable. It's easy to get off and on. I hate to wrestle with getting shapewear on. There may be times when I have a particular outfit that is really clingy or requires more definition in the bust when I wear shapewear with longer legs or a more defined bra. But for 90% of what I wear, this item is perfect. I wash my shapewear in the washer and hang it to dry because I wash them so often. I've slipped up a number of times and put them through the dryer. Unlike many other similar items, there has been no obvious damage to the shapewear. After rotating my seven pieces over the course of 13+ months, they pretty much look like they did the day I purchased them, although they are a slight bit more comfortable. Not loose by any means, just less stiff. I have found the stretchy lace one-piece items also work well for me and MAY have a bit more "suck in" action. However, the elastic in the lace seems to irritate my skin. As well, the elastic starts to decompose after very little use. So while they are prettier and have a bit more hold, as a daily item they don't cut it. If they made this same garment with a more defined bra cup, I'd buy 20 of them without hesitation. That's my only complaint about this item. I'm a creature of comfort and my skin tends to be easily irritated by tight clothes and direct contact with elastic. This makes finding the perfect shapewear a challenge. But today I am ordering six more of this style of body briefer even though my original seven are in perfect condition. I figured I didn't want to risk them being discontinued and sometimes it's hard to get my laundry done every week because of my extensive travel schedule. This garment is not tight across the midsection, as I’d hoped. It’s also long in the torso, for me (5’ 7”, 165#). But-the bra part actually fit (38DD). That, in itself, is amazing. It is also smooth-no seams that would show when wearing a smooth dress/shirt. The light bra padding also helps cover any obvious nipple action. Although this isn’t as snug as I’d hoped, it is comfortable and is smooths out the midsection will. No lines. And the price is pretty great. The hooks in the crotch make it a lot easier to go the bathroom without disrobing. ... show more

    • A comfortable bodysuit for folks who want smooth lines without a lot of compression

NOTE: I've been sizing up in this bodysuit for awhile now, but my latest order is smaller. It fits fine in my regular bra size, 36D. Now a 34D is too small, even though I'd already bought several in that size. I see this as a size correction on the part of Bali. I still love the fit of these, just be aware they're no longer sized large but, instead, like other bodysuits. From recent experience you should no longer have to size down. I really enjoy having a more comfortable bodysuit available again. I don't want Spanx or anything that squishes me that tight, just something to give me a smooth line under fitted or knit clothes. I did have to size down so I think this runs a bit large. (I went from my usual 36D to a 34D. This was key for me, and if the bodysuit is loose in the torso for you, I'd suggest you try this.) This bodysuit has everything I want and nothing I don't. It gives me no panty or bra lines, but it doesn't leave me feeling confined too much. It's comfortable and easy to wear for everyday or when I'm dressing up. Just don't buy this expecting a lot of compression since it is as stated "Ultralight." There are lots of heavy compression bodysuits, but the comfy ones (like this one) can be hard to find. Someone else mentioned the hook and eye crotch as being uncomfortable. It is a little bit wide for a smaller woman, but mine feels fine after one washing, which left that area not as stiff and more comfortable. I do wear panties under it, as with other bodysuits, so maybe that helps with comfort. I'm very happy with this underlayer and will buy more. My old favorite comfy bodysuit was discontinued, but this one is actually better, just as comfy but with a little more waist shaping. ... show more

I've been a dancer for 50 years and body briefers are my secret to maintaining a smooth, flat, non-lumpy, shapely look - it’s only thing I wear under my clothing. I ditched my bras and panties long ago. Over the past 5 decades, I've worn many different body briefers, always looking for the perfect combination of thin but strong spandex, lightweight but high quality fabric, a seamless appearance under clothing (including underneath body hugging yoga pants), with no backfat or bra bulge, a perfect width, a flat strap not too narrow, not too wide, that tapers from bra to shoulder, the cups are excellent supportive bra coverage that holds my girls up at beautifully, at the perfect height and angle - no sagging! My husband of 40 yrs says its pretty and alluring like the '40's pin up girls and that is just the look I love. The body briefer spandex is firm enough to keep me smooth and flat under my glamour wear, but comfortable enough to lay around in. I love the touch of lace in just the right places because it adds to that all important retro-sexy look that is very pretty while still doing its job. I love (and my husband does too), the Full bottom coverage which NPL under most fabrics, exactly what I want - a nice, thin supportive but not tight fabric with invisible non stitch edging and strong center seam for shapely, no-uni-butt look - classy & professional in or out of the office. No jiggle/flappy thong-butt wanted! In my semi-senior years I find myself in demand for modeling in fashion shows and I can wear this body briefer in the big open changing room with dignity and modesty while the photogs, techs, coordinators and semi-nude models clutching their arms awkwardly - all walk right by us. I wear Body Shapers rather than bra and underwear combinations all the time and through all the seasons. I began wearing them after reading a knitting book that said to avoid having bumps and bulges wear your bra strap and underwear are to wear something like these. I am not interested in having something that squishes me and makes me a different size than I am especially now as I am going older. I am 51 and wear a size 10 or 12 depending on the outfit period on a really super day I can wear a size 8 but that is on a really super day. What I really like about these particular Body Shapers is that they are light in the firmness and so I do not feel like I am squeezing into a bathing suit two sizes too small. Rather they glide on and feel very silky on my body. I still choose to wear underwear with them but this prevents me from having any underwear lines. I like the fact that the cups in the bust prevent pop outs when it's cold if you know what I mean. It gives me a very nice and neat shape and is not one of those uncomfortable body suits. For those who have never worn them before, you may wonder if that doesn't make you more uncomfortable in the summer months because of heat. I can honestly say that I do not find that it makes me hotter and in fact it does prevent you from perspiring on your clothes at least around your breast area because there's something else to absorb it before it touches your clothing. This will make your clothing last longer and will keep you from having perspiration show through as you were at events. I bought a size 38D and it fits me perfectly. I weigh 172lb and am 5'3.
