I have a very large fine china set that in the past has been always packed in tons of tissue and bubble wrap and carefully put in boxes or those kits that come from big box stores for dishes that can cost a fortune when you have a china set with over 100 pieces. This Hard Shell China storage set is AMAZING! I had to buy a few more containers but it's well worth it. They are very sturdy, fit the pieces very well, comes with the felt inserts so the dishes don't scratch and so on. It makes transporting them to a new home very easy and you feel that your treasured china is safe from harm because they don't have room to shift in the containers. Definitely a good purchase!

Ordered to store Christmas dishes. The dinner and salad plates fit into the two largest sizes. Supports the weight of the eight plates in each with room to spare. like the double zippers making it easy access. Sturdy construction. Unfortunately, I should have measured for the bowls. They are fruit bowls and don't work well in the remaining two containers. That's my fault for not measuring. Would order again if needed in the future.

Dish containers are sturdy seem to be made well. The cup/mug container does not have a hard top therefore nothing can be placed on top of the case during storage. All storage containers are NOT hard side.
