I ended up getting him a medium and the length was right about the knee. He usually wears a 31 or 32 inseam and 34 for length in regular pants. Most of his height is on the above side. These are very comfortable shorts and I love that fits really nice on me. I’ve been looking for shorts I can wear around the house and these are perfect. I wear 3XL and wish the pull string around the waist was a little longer. I’m also not a very big fan of the zippers on the pockets as it has the potential of leaving scratch marks on phone so I’m always conscious of sliding phone in and out of them. ... show more

They are super soft and stretchy comfortable. They seem to fit a little large (generous) in the butt and legs. Waist is perfect. But not being form fitting, that might be a positive if your sitting, like driving, for any length of time or exercising.

Fits as expected. Quality of the material seems very high. So far I washed it and dried it once and they still look brand new with absolutely no shrinkage. I love the zippered Pockets being that I usually carry my wallet, keys and cell phone, and this way I could zip it up to prevent them from falling out, which usually happens. I don’t remember what I paid for these, but the quality is excellent, so if I paid a lot, it was definitely worth it, if it’s cheaper than 40 bucks, you are definitely getting the shorts at a great price. ... show more
