There is a strong fragrance smell that does not dissipate after airing out for several days. Anyone who has MCS and/or is fragrance or chemically-sensitive or intolerant, this is not the duffle bag for you. It's unfortunate I have to return it for this reason. I believed the answer to my question about smell or fragrance and was told it was just normal "new bag" smell. Not so at all. It is made in China and they seem to put some type of fragrance IN the plastic and other material. I aired it out outside in the sun, inside overnights for several days wiped it completely down with vinegar first, then rubbing alcohol. Did not make any difference, so it is most likely IN the actual plastic because they want to mask the other chemical smells. The actual bag is not bad and I like the design and all of the pockets, however be advised, IT WILL NOT STAND UPRIGHT on its own. Makes no sense, but I compared it with my Samsonite duffle of the same size, and the Samsonite stands upright empty or full. I don't know how long it would last with regular use or travel. Probably not all that long, but for minimal gentle use, it might. It is overpriced in my opinion. I would have returned it for this reason alone, but the strong fragrance is disappointing. It is NOT just "new bag" smell. I am starting to buy only products made in the US because we do not spray everything with horrible strong fragrance that Chinese products come here with. I took three stars off for these two reasons.

The biggest issue with this rolling bag is that it is somewhat wobbly and unstable to use on the wheels, which makes the whole experience of using it somewhat uncomfortable even with a fairly balanced load. The interior is water resistant and other than that the construction is not bad. It allows for a small amount of compressing with the outer buckle straps but it just does not seem all that roomy. I wish it had some kind of backpack strap attachment as I'd much prefer to carry this than roll it around. While it is an overall acceptable piece of luggage, I think it is significantly less pleasant to use than other ones I've had.
