I ordered this so that I could transport my cat in the car more comfortably than in a standard plastic cat carrier. He is 18/19 pounds (not fat, just very long/large in size) so does not seem to fit comfortably when zipped up in backpack form, but with the back expanded was able to lay down and loaf. However he did seem to get hot in there with the pvc. I’m glad the expandable part was made of mesh so that he could breathe a little better. I would probably shop around more next time and take into consideration the length of his fur and his size but it works for a short car trip and I think it would be great for smaller cats.

My 6Ib Yorkie Lexi absolutely adores her new Backpack which also double as an expandable & convertible pen/bed. She loves the clear unobstructed views the PVC front and side panels. I love the ease in which the backpack opens and closes. It is very light weight and provides additional chest support strap and carry top handle. Of course, while using during the hot summer months, I would recommend leaving the top mesh window open and ensure ventilation vents are not block for adequate air flow. I added additional 1 inch Grommet vent holes on the front and sides for optimal airflow, which is needed especially when flying on a hot and stuffy airplane. We use her backpack for local day trips and sleepovers as well. We simply can't live without it...best $40 investment ever!

I wish the carrier had a little more mesh on the sides and a side door access for older cats. It is not that comfortable on your back if walking long distances with a larger cat. I love the ease of the pop out tent ion the back side. Not enough air flow and gets too hot inside on very hot sunny days. Great for 70 degree F or cooler/damp days!

The bag is super cute, I really like it. I got it a week ago haven’t used it until now to take my kitten to the vet and the netting tore. It’s not major but it is something to keep in mind, considering this sat in the closet for a bit and it wasn’t torn when I opened it.

I purchased this for a small pomeranian who is claustrophobic and gets pretty hot. I knew the front panel was PVC and the top of the sides. I did not expect the sides to be completely PVC down into the pockets. This defeats the purpose of having mesh side pockets. There is only front ventilation when you are wearing the backpack. Expanded the back also is ventilated but when wearing, your back covers the mesh. The few air holes in the PVC was not enough ventilation to get to the bottom of the carrier which was pretty stuffy and hot aftet I removed her.

Loved the idea of it and my cats warmed up to it very quickly with catnip and treats. However, first trip to the vet and my cat put a hole in the mesh where it meets the zipper.

It's a great product, but I must be the only one that didn't receive one with the back being expandable. I was really looking forward to that part, my cat is very large and fits perfectly in the regular compartment but would be nicer for him to have more to stretch
