Love this brand and rely on it for travel but I also like them for everyday. The gold hardware was a new to me choice. It really elevates the bag and allows for a dressier look. Although it looks to be on the smaller side- the interior widens at the bottom which allows for expansion to accommodate bulkier items like a water bottle or a small collapsible umbrella. When empty it is quite flat and easy to pack if needed. Plenty of organization is built in with exterior double closure wallet section, and several other zippers/areas. There are so many great things about this bag. It has many slots, and spots to organize everything. It is so hard to find the perfect bag that is not too big, not too small, and will hold what you need to carry without being too heavy. This is all of that for me. I think it is cute as well, not as plain as some bags I was looking at. The slots are the right size to easily grab a card at the checkout quickly. The zippers perform well and do not get caught. It is a very good quality bag that will last for years. I really like that the front compartment zips closed and also has a flap that secures down. Your valuables are safe and secure and will not fall out. What I don't like about it: The strap is so slippery it is difficult to keep it on your shoulder when you are using the bag as a shoulder purse. I ordered a strap grip and that is helping but it isn't perfect. If they made the strap in a different fabric, it would really be perfect. Edit. I gave up on the strap and ordered a canvas one. It is making all the difference. Huge improvement. I’m not sure why this manufacturer provides such a slippery strap, but I really did not care for it. I had been searching for a new purse for quite awhile. This one has most of what I like. I got French blue, which is very nice. It has a slight sheen to it and is pretty dark, almost looks black at times. It has a large main compartment which has a zippered compartment on one side. There is a slot compartment with magnetic closing on back of purse where I put my cell phone. In front of the main compartment is another zip compartment. I put my glasses here. In the very front is a wallet compartment. Outside is a flap with a turn latch. Under that is zip area for credit cards, cash bills, two pockets on other side of zip change compartment...lots of room. Also another zip pocket to the back of this wallet area. Baggalini is a quality product. Edit a few months later...still great, but I recently discovered an open slot in top of purse. Perfect for cell phone, but I put my glasses in it without a case. I am very happy with my new Baggallini Calais crossbody bag. I have another Baggallini bag and knew it had the quality I wanted. The Calais has many secure zippered sections and lots of pockets, a key leash - so I know where my keys are, a built in RFID wallet and a special pocket that easily holds my iPhone 16 Pro and is easy to access. It has a back pocket with snap to hold my lipstick, lotion, hair ties and nail file for which is convenient. I chose the shimmery silver color and love it. It’s a great neutral. It is lightweight and can be wiped off or washed. It holds everything I need, including two pairs of glasses, with a little room to spare. ... show more

I like this bag a lot. I like the adjustable strap, the pockets and the zippers, the organization, all of it. It's my everyday basic, practical, nice-looking bag for work. BUT I was surprised that after about a year and a half of use it looks so faded. Both the navy blue is lighter, and, on the magnetic closure/clasp on the front of the bag (a major ornamental feature) the silver has worn off to reveal a brassy color underneath. So if you like that antique, worn look....go for it. But I expect a bag I paid good money for to still look good after one year and a half (and I don't actually use it every day year round - I have a few other bags I switch it out with!) So I'll still use it cause it is so practical and just the right size, but I have to say i'm a bit sad about the way it looks now. ... show more
