I must admit I mostly buy this because we visited Badia a Coltibuono for a wedding years ago and it brings back fond memories. Nonetheless, I seldom find an olive oil I like better.     • Fine smell that makes me want use in all my cooking
The smell is not like anything from the store,smells clean and somewhat like freshly cut grass. I don't know if that makes it healthier to use ,but it just seems like it is. If you drink it you can taste nothing,but when you swallow it ,it has a mild burn with zero after taste. I use too much of this stuff when I cook because I marinate things in it,then dump more on my food. I also use it on my skin,if you can't drink it,you shouldn't put it on your body,the skin is the most important part of your body. I give this oil a ten out of ten,two thumbs up. ... show more

Years ago we read about Coltibuono in one of Ed Giobbi's books. He is an artist who loves to cook, had to cook in early starving days. Yes, these oils are not cheap and we don't waste a drop. But boy, do they have flavor! Save up and try it once in your life. One of these days, I'd like to try a true 'fresh-squeezed' olive oil from a known grower. I imagine it'd be like eating a garden-grown tomato instead of one from a supermarket. ... show more

This is the good stuff. Worry not, no substitutions here. Easier to get on Amazon than rooting around the city for a store that may or may not stock it... You will not be disappointed with this olive oil. It is a staple in the top gourmet deli's as it never fails to satisfy smart customers.
